Question:

Why do some people hate Barack Obama?

I am one of Obama's biggest supporters. Unfortunately some naive people look at race, his family, and his faith as reasons to denounce Obama.

First of all, he is a christian. Yes, his dad was a muslim, but the last time Barack saw him was when he was 2 years old.

HE IS NOT MUSLIM.

Race should never be an issue. I thought we got past this 40 years ago.

His mother was a christian. His wife is a christian. His children were baptized by a christian minister (let's not mention him). Michelle will do a good job of upholding the office of the first lady. She is a very good person. (Don't judge her until you meet her)

He was raised in the slums by a hardworking family who just wanted the best for him. Without them he would not be here today. He worked hard through school and worked several jobs to get through.

He has stood up for the people in congress and in life.

Barack Obama will uphold his position as president.

Make sure you look at the issues before you vote against him

  1. i'm sorry to say that it sounds more like you should take a better look at the issues - unless you are only comparing him to the republican nominee

and your right race should not be an issue - but unfortunately he is the biggest hypocrite in saying it shouldn't be considering all that comes out of his mouth is "i am the first african-american nominee for president" - in case - as one of his biggest supporters you haven't heard that - also he is always stressing change however most of what he says is repeating what other politicians have said - for example pay close attention to his debates with clinton his answers usually started with "i agree with senator clinton..." and how about last week while eating my dinner watching the news they had a clip of him agreeing with the stimulus checks and considering them to be issued again next year - that is not change my friend - just repeats.  i believe that winning this election is about him personally - his determination to be the first black president - apparently he is the one who forgot that he is only half black - and that his intention has nothing to do with the good of this country -just his personal ego- and not to be repeating one of his former rivals but she was right is stating that he doesn't have the experience, he just lacks in sooooooo many areas i'd be typing all day.

bottom line is we need a democratic presidential nominee whose main concern really has nothing to do their own race or gender or personal egos - someone who actually has the best interests of the people of this country and the future of this country - unfortunately it looks like we'll be waiting four more years

  2. i voted for him in my state's primary and don't care about his religion, race, family or any of the other things you state. i care about issues and solutions. the more i have learned about him and his positions since our primary the less enamored with him i am. his solutions are to raise taxes, something i'm not in favor of. if you believe it's only going to be on the upper 2% income level think again. they didn't get rich by being stupid. their tax increase will be passed on to the consumer (us). it has always been that way, that isn't, hasn't or won't change. try drinking some coffee to wake up. i've never been to hawaii but my sons are going there in about 2 wks. and i've asked them to take some pictures of their slums. i have looked at the issues and his solutions and that's why i'm not voting for him plain and simple.

  3. people don't like him because he's black, and they THlNK he's muslim, and people are just old fashioned

  4. yes but I'd rather look at the issues and in that respect he is greatly lacking.

  5. I don't like him.  He called me a "typical white person, from small town, bitterly clinging to my gun and Bible"  That really isn't the way to get a person's vote.

  6. check this out,obamatruth.org it has the best interveiw about michele

  7. I have no problems with skin color, I just don't vote for socialists.

  8. hateful people hate other people. america is 3000 miles wide and 3 inches deep.

  9. He's naive, for one...

  10. Because he is a democrat. I mean if you are a republican you are not going to love a democrat am i right?. Not literally love but you know attend their meetings, congratulate them for winning California, approve of g*y marriage. "Say like hey I don't really support the war in Iraq, but hey at least you are also American so it is okay no worries."

Some people are way too fascinated with their political ideology or party.

  11. actually you are focused on race and so is Obama.

he was not raised in any FN slum. What the h**l kind of BS are you talking about? He was raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. His family did fine - his mom and dad were dead beats who abandoned him with his grandma: the "typical white person."

I dont think he's a muslim, i thinks he believes in Obama. His whole purpose for attending Trinity was political pandering: just like Rev Wright said.

Christians dont support partial birth abortion and restricting medical treatment from botched abortions, thus allowing babies to die. that's not rhetoric- its his record.

i dont hate him, but ill be damned if im going to be fooled by a lying hardcore Marxist like you have.

  12. Why do you left leaners think that someone doesn't like Obama because of his race, or because of his supposed religion?  Can't you accept that it could be because of his policy suggestions?

I couldn't bring myself to vote for Obama because I don't agree with any of his suggestions.  It's as simple as that.

  13. I feel the same way about this issue, and the reason I haven't posted something like this is probably apparent to you as well.  It's saddening, but the only people who will read this and choose to understand it is those that would agree with you.  The rest will read over the first sentence, call you an Obamaniac and say you're crazy and stupid.  It's sad and ridiculous, but it's the state of conversation on the YA forums.  People will ridicule anything they see in the slightest bad light.  And they wont look to reason.  They wont look to arguments.  They'll just make their point and move on.  I'm glad to see that not everyone's that way, and I admire your ability to actually put together something cohesive, that puts you well ahead of most anyone here.  I hope some people do read this and actually learn from it.
