Why do some people make it out as if McCain is on his deathbed?

This man is a survivor, and has proven it as a younger man and as a cancer survivor.

I have a 94 year old grandmother a 87 year old grandmother. The average life expectancy of men is 78-80 years old. This is an average, meaning many people are above this figure as they are below it.

He has been campaigning for over a year and does not look worn down and holds up quite well.

So, is this really a concern, or just an argument used because you dont care for his politics. It's fine either way, but lets call it as it is.

Thoughts?

  1. Wishful thinking.

  2. It's age discrimination.  The fact is that there isn't much of an age difference between McCain and Biden.  People just say that because they think that it will somehow make us not want to vote for McCain and since none of us are buying the Oprah book club candidate and his recycled rhetoric, it's all they have left.

  3. the average life expectancy of an american male is like 76 or 77, but most haven't been starved, beaten, and abused for years on end.  By the end of Reagan's tenure, he was nodding off in cabinet meetings.

  4. He's not THAT old.

People just have to always find something to pick on another candidate about. I guess better that he's TOO experienced rather than people saying he has NO experience/young? Hm.

  5. No kidding.  Milton Friedman, the greatest economist to ever live, died in 2006 in his mid 90s.  The guy was sharp as a tack and working right up until the very end.

RIP to the late, great Milton Friedman.

  6. The dems are just using scare tactics.Doesn't work on me,My grandmother is 99 my mother passed away when she was 63.

So that tells you Nothing in life is guarenteed except Death& Taxes.

Death does not prey upon just the elderly.

  7. Because he is 72 and has cancer.

  8. Idle hands are the devils workshop.

  9. liberal desperation.  they seem to want to discriminate on age and gender now.

  10. Well, certainly no one expects him to die, but he would be the oldest NEWLY elected president if he wins at 72. Reagan was 73 when he was RE- elected. That would definately concern me too. And especially that he's picked this "newbie" that no one knows anything about. Thats scary. This is the alternative folks if he wins and dies... way too risky. I have always wanted Obama to win, and he has too to make any real differences.

  11. That's easy, it's the only thing they have on him.

  12. Statistically he has passed the average life expectancy in America.  72.  Avg life span worldwide is 68.

  13. ok, lets call it like it is,

mccain is old as dirt! yes i have and old grandparent too, but shes not running for the highest office in the land..

  14. Well, considering he is only 4 years older than Barack's VP, I don't see what the big deal is... 72 is NOT "old".

  15. Because he is, I bet you would say your grandmothers can rule the country or are you?

  16. Many of the people whining about McCain's age are simply making a malicious attack against him rather than trying to defend the lack of qualifications in Obama. It is a relatively baseless argument in this day and age. It may be a revelation to many of these airheads that not everyone gets senile at 72. Few of those complaining are remotely close to that age themselves. When they turn 72 I hope they are subjected to the same baseless criticisms by their children and grandchildren. It'll serve them right.

  17. I Know! McCain has released his full medical records. So if anyone should accuse him of dying soon, they should provide a good reason other than his age. Also, his mother is still alive, which obviously shows good genes.

  18. His mother, at the age of 96, is one of the most youthful and inspiring people I have ever had the pleasure to talk to.  Naturally, he son, more than 20 years younger, is following suit =]
