  1. It's in no ones best interest to rig the casinos.  They play fair we go back, they rig, we don't go back and they get shut down.

  2. Good question.

Many of them are "rigged", and will take your money if  you deposit with them. Some of the gaming operations that create and then sell these  sites to operators will actually GUARANTEE a certain profit level from the players. In other words the percentages are set to be sure you,  the player, will lose!

On the other hand, some sites offer poker games ( some of these can be "rigged" too ) that provide the skilled player a chance to win online. You are not playing against the casino with unfavorable odds, but against other players who contribute to a pot which goes to the winning player. The poker rooms take a "Rake", a small percentage of the pot, as payment for sponsoring the game.

Some of these poker room sites offer freerolls, where you can win cash money without a deposit of any kind and get paid by a check. See the link below for some more information.

Most of the bigger sites that offer poker rooms generally provide a fair and honest game. There have been exceptions, such as at Absolute Poker, where allegedly one player could "see" the hole cards at the poker table. Absolute claims this was a fluke, and since claims it could never happen again.

Gambling sites online clearly can be "rigged" and I would never recommend you deposit money with them. However, if you are just seeking some fun online and practice, there are a number of sites that allow you to play for free with no need to deposit any money, and if you win money on the site, they will pay you by check. Some offer prizes, up to large HD TV's. You may have to see a lot of ads and solicitations, but then someone has to pay, nothing is free!

    Good luck if you try.

  3. I believe P.T. Barnum said, "There's one born every minute."

  4. i do it because the it's fast and easy and if i tried to get into a home game around here, they're all poor losers.

also, i'm much more comfortable with the limits in online gaming. i played a regular casino tourney which was advertised at a $40 buy in, but after fees and the casino's cut, it was actually $100.

Oh, also you are assuming that regular casino's aren't rigged. Imho, the last time I went, the slot play in particular was mighty suspicious. when I gambled in korea, they didn't wash the decks. the reason, i found out later, was to remove facecards from the deck...a clear advantage for the house.
