  1. Cold alcohol tastes better than warm or room temperature alcohol. It won't freeze (unless some dumb nub put water in it), but it gets really cold and goes down smoother.

  2. Your taste buds can not taste flavors as well when something is cold.  The colder vodka is the less you can taste the alcohol.  Eat warm soup and cold soup you will notice the difference.

    Addition:

For all the people saying to make it "ice cold" the reason people want there liquor ice cold is to minimize the taste of it.

Why do you put ice in your drink?  Why not drink your whiskey neat?  If you do not put ice in your drink to reduce the taste (making it taste better) why do you?

  3. Uhhh...to keep them ice cold.  They're not going to freeze as long as it's pure liquor and not mixed with something.

  4. Alcohol (not watered down in beers) does not freeze and thus you can have literally ice cold alcohol (probably around -20C).  So why not?

  5. We prefer to drink it cold

  6. Don't know why everyone is thumbing down all these answers.

yes, MOST people put vodka and other pure liqours in their freezers to get it as cold as possible.  that way they can mix it with other ingredients and not have to use more ice to cool it down again, which would water down the end drink.

Some people might do it to reduce the taste, but thats not why I or anyone I know does it.

  7. well to keep it as coldest it can be, if you think about it, having a cold martini is better than having a warm one haha

  8. my dad says that even though the alcohol in the beverage doesn't freeze, freezing the vodka or other liquors keeps it ice cold, nonetheless.

  9. Because alcohol can not freeze. Also things taste better cold!
