  1. Coz they are just dead set retards. Anyone who thinks that needs to be shot!

  2. Possibly not the greatest sportsman of all time.  Guys like Babe Ruth, Cassius Clay, Roger Bannister, Michael Phelps may be comparible ... but there is no cricketer who has even vaguely comparable performances over such a career and when the great Viv Richards acknowledges this himself, it is the ultimate hide for the fans of Sachin to claim it.

But they would like to think someone of their kind is as good.  Which is odd as there is no-one of Don Bradman's kind.

  3. Have no fears, Don is the best, everbody knows that

But Sachin is a hero to the people in in India so they just want to feel special too!

  4. You are absolutely Right........

Don Bradman is the Greatest sportsman ever.....

Charles Davis analysed the statistics for several prominent sportsmen by comparing the number of standard deviations that they stand above the mean for their sport

    Athlete              Sport                   Statistic         Standarddeviations

    Bradman          Cricket              Batting average          4.4

Pelé          Association football       Goals per game     3.7

Ty Cobb         Baseball               Batting average         3.6

Jack Nicklaus    Golf                      Major titles            3.5

Michael Jordan   Basketball            Points per game     3.4

The statistics show that "no other athlete dominates an international sport to the extent that Bradman does cricket". In order to post a similarly dominant career statistic as Bradman, a baseball batter would need a career batting average of .392, while a basketball player would need to score an average of 43.0 points per game. The respective records are .366 and 30.1.

But the reason for comparing Don with Sachin is that Don himself told that Sachin's Batting strokes were like him

Who was the fool that said sachin faced harder opponents??

ur a d**k, not only has technology and research improve bowling but it has also improved batting making it still an even level at which everyone competes.

Cricket was at a very elite stage in the 30s/40s, hence the invincibles in which bradman even stould out from them and captained them.

Im sick of noobs talking about sachins ODI, which is non comparable as they didn't have ODI back when the bradman played, and even then in tests his strike rate was still incredibly high.

Bradman was miles ahead of his fellow players and still is today. If you look at sachin he is definately not miles infront (if at all) of his fellow players. In fact i could easliy compare Sir viv richards or ponting to tendulkar which is definately debatable.

Conclusion: Sachin is a great player and was always great to watch, But there is too many 'Facts' that imply that bradman was the great ever batsman.

  6. You will find that most of those are just kids & Sachin is their hero I guess. But they should learn to find out the true facts before they get all emotional about things.

  7. because they are comparable, its not said by anyone else, the Don himself said this that "he plays like him". i agree, statistically Don can't be matched and the greatest of all but Sachin has also made runs everywhere in all conditions and wickets , the cricket has become more cunning with all the computer set ups, fielding plans, opposition gameplans and its not easy to make the statistics of what Sachin has achieved !

with due respect to Don, we rate sachin the second best, thats all !

i think there is nothing wrong with comparison, if it is  not offensive to anyone!

    regards!

  8. It was the great Don himself who allowed this comparison.

He had a high opinion of S Tendulkar.

"In 2002, Wisden rated him as the second greatest Test batsman after Sir Donald Bradman, and the greatest One-day international batsman.

He holds several highly regarded batting records and is the leading scorer of centuries in both Test cricket and One-day internationals. He is one of the three batsmen to surpass 11,000 runs in Test cricket. "

Wisden rated Sachin Tendulkar as the second greatest Test Cricket and ODI batsman of all time after the legendary Sir Don Bradman and Sir Viv Richards....

Sir Don made all his runs against the Poms, whereas ST made it again top cricketing countries.

just see links and you will get a lot of info.

  9. Sachin is not compared to Bradman statistically; it is the style of batting. That is why Sir Don compared Sachin to himself, that is why, Sachin was one of the elite few who attended Don's 80 birthday. (I think Shane Warne was only other cricketer).

The fact that only Tendulkar is compared to Bradman in modern days shows Tendulkar is the greatest batsman of modern days. It does not matter how logical the comparison is.

  10. Well they get compared a lot because they are both excellent batsmen. But they are excellent batsmen of different eras making them unable to be compared.

  11. SAchin face many of gr8s of the game. ever bradman face????
