  1. Because it's cold outside and it's almost May.

  2. No one is denying the Earth has gradually warmed over the last couple thousand years.  All of the warming to date, including the supposed man-made portion of the last 150 years, can be directly tied to extremely unusual solar activity over the last 70-100 years.  Look it up for yourself and see.

  3. Because there is a lot of evidence to show that the world heats and cools all the time in long and short increments.  We know there has been more that one ice age and more than one point that it got really hot (before people).  Envoronazies got wind of a scientific theory and ran with it.  There are a lot of celebrity environmentalists who have the intelligence of a sea sponge who get a lot of media attention.  There are also a lot of people and politicians who have the intelligence of a mold spore who listen to the wisdom of the sea sponges.  It's not a myth, it's a natural cycle that we can't do anything about.  Look at facts over media c**p.  Don't believe something because a TV personality tells you to.

  4. because they have not seen any drastic disasters happen yet.. seeing is believing..

(but can't they see or feel signs of it happening already??)

  5. First, MOST (not a consensus) scientists do believe the Earth is in a warming period.  This is common sense.  We just (thousands of years ago relative to the Earth's multi-billion year age) ended a major ice age.  The earth - like every other entity in the universe - varies.  It cycles through warm and cold periods.  Ten's of thousands of years ago all of Canada and  the northern part of America was under ice (the great lakes were made from glaciers).  Then it started warming.  Eventually, the Earth will cool again.

There is a consensus (not a majority) of scientists who believe humans are responsible for Global Warming.  My take is follow the money.  Man-induced global warming is a multi-billion dollar business.  Scientists get multi-million contracts to research it - businesses charge money to "prevent" it.  Politicians look at it as a new revenue stream via new taxes (indirectly through cap and trade).  Anybody who believes that energy companies will simply absorb the new cap and trade regulations currently in the senate for approval are naive.  Energy companies will simply pass the additional cost on to the consumer - YOU and ME.  I personally do not support bogus policies - similar to the ethanol blunder - that place undue financial hardships on people.  Remember, these same boneheads that promote global warming supported bio-fuels.  Look what these boneheads have done to the global food market with their stupid policies.  Implementing global warming policies will do infinitely more damage to the world economy then the bio-fuels blunder and for nothing.  According to experts, if all countries followed the Kyoto treaty, the temperature of the Earth may change my 0.07 C.  If one takes into account error, the change is negligible.  Implementing Kyoto will CRIPPLE the world economy.  For what?  Nothing.

  6. I'm very skeptical because the climate models used to predict global warming have been proven to be at least inaccurate and possibly completely wrong.

Actual climate data indicates that the mean global temperature has been falling for several years.  At the same time CO2 concentrations have been increasing.

I guess I'm more convinced by actual data than by the hysterical proclaimations of un-educated movie stars.

  7. Because it was mid-80s today. Should have been in the nineties. It's going to be like that for the next ten days. It's cooling off here, not heating up.

  8. They watch Faux News or listen (not realizing he's an entertainer) to Dr. Rush Limbaugh

  9. because they dont want to face problems and would rather drive their gas sucking trucks :)

  10. Because instead of listening to the sanctimonious pronouncements from actors, rock stars and failed politicians we actually looked at the evidence.

  11. because they dont want to tell themselves the trurth that  they are hurting the earth and themselves my useing hairspray and other products they dont want to limit themselves too

  12. Gore investment body closes $683m fund

The investment vehicle headed by Al Gore has closed a new $683m fund to invest in early-stage environmental companies and has mounted a robust defence of green investing.

The Climate Solutions Fund will be one of the biggest in the growing market for investment funds with an environmental slant.

The fund will be focused on equity investments in small companies in four sectors: renewable energy; energy efficiency technologies; energy from biofuels and biomass; and the carbon trading markets.

This is the second fund from Generation Investment Management, chaired by the former vice-president of the US and managed by David Blood, former head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

The first, the Global Equity Strategy Fund, has $2.2bn invested in large companies the company judges have “sustainable“ businesses, from an environmental, social and economic viewpoint. Mr Blood said he expected that fund to be worth $5bn within two years, based on commitments from interested investors.

Mr Blood said raising $683m for the new fund in the midst of “market disruption” showed the resilience of green investing. “The fact we were able to raise $683m was extraordinary, so our experience is that it has not really been a problem [raising funds despite what is] generally a difficult environment,” he told the Financial Times.

“A fear expressed by some is that the first thing to go in a downturn is the nice-to-have sort of investment. Some people put green investments in that category, but we think that is nonsense. This is not nice-to-have – it is fundamental finance...because the transition from a high-carbon to a low-carbon economy is a ginormous step that is going to happen quickly,” he said.

Both Mr Gore and Mr Blood had invested in the new fund to a “pretty sizeable” extent, Mr Blood said.

The average size of investment made by the new fund is likely to be about $30m, in small private or public companies. All of the investors in the new fund were drawn from the company’s existing pool of investors.

None were willing to be named but existing investors in the Global Equity Strategy Fund include the Swiss private bank Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch; the California State Teachers Retirement System; Sweden’s Mistra Foundation; and Australia’s Victoria Super Fund.

Last year, Generation formed a partnership with the Silicon Valley venture capitalists Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to collaborate on possible investments.

  13. Because they haven't seen the scientific evidence.  In their world, all they've seen is a lot of people crying wolf, and nothing bad happened.

  14. Because it's true.  Global warming has been happening for thousands of years...ever since our planet started thawing from the Ice age.  Global warming happens so slowly, that the human race will probably never be truly at risk.  The media just likes to scare us because we're easier to govern and control if we're scared of something- plus, it makes lots of money.  I don't think there's anything wrong with taking care of our planet and going a little "greener", but global warming being a real risk- that's just a lie... Americans should do their own research and become informed rather than believing the media.  Read Michael Crichton's book, State of Fear, and all the research that went behind it.

  15. Denying ones luxuries is hard to overcome.

  16. Actually most people think it is a serious problem.  The others just make a lot of noise and try to shout everyone else down.  The ones who don't basically believe no problem is important unless they can be convinced it is affecting white Americans.

  17. I wouldn't say it's a myth, more like a scam or a hoax. The fact is that it was getting warmer until we hit a high in 1998 due to El Nino. Since then it hadn't cooled a lot until last year when there was enough cooling to offset most of the warming it took us a century to acheive. If it does get warmer again, CO2 will only be playing a minor role in that warming. To quantify CO2, it makes up .04% of our atmosphere, it's the weakest of all the greenhouse gases with a global warming potential of 1. Methane, nitrous oxide and other gases are many times higher. The amount of CO2 we add annually is a drop in the bucket compared to what occurs naturally.

We're at least as likely to begin a dramatic cooling phase due to a decline in sunspot activity. The last time the solar cycle was this weak and stayed that way was the coldest part of the Little Ice Age a few hundred years ago. Since that ended we've been rebounding in temperature to what it was before the Little Ice Age, which is no cause for alarm. If the temp climbs as some say it will, it will be for the first time in Earth's history that CO2 drove temp higher on it's own.

  18. They are wrong. It is is a marketing campaign.

  19. Perhaps because some parts of the world are having record low temperatures. Global warming MAY be real, but global cooling should not be overlooked.

  20. Do to the fact that it would make them admit to the truth,if ever one did, there would have to be Major changes, and they may end up losing money,do to the lose of there east living, and they may have to work in order to make the money, instead of depriving others of money.
