Why do some people think that keeping porcupine needles in your house(for decorative purposes) is bad luck?

Probably because you can get stuck by one or more needles./

Probably because someone at some time got one stuck in their hand, and they are a booger to get out!  I've never heard this "bad luck" story before.  Native Americans have used porcupine quills for decoration (house and personal) since before Columbus, so however you see that in relation to "bad luck".....
