Why do some prisoners resort to sodomy?

As a straight guy, I'm curious about the how and why this happens. Is this the result of being away from women for so long? How prevalent is it? It is just another form of anti-social behavior, like the crimes that put them in prison?

As you said I think for some it's just for the feeling of pleasure since there are not women around. Others can be g*y or curious to see what it's like to be with another man.

Humans are sexual, with every variation and combination of preferences, tastes, and distastes. Always been that way. Always will. Deprive them of one outlet, they'll take up another or do without, according to the individual. No different from all-male boarding school and the navy when it was all male and months at sea.

Being locked up with only other guys and their letting the wrong head guide their lives is what turns them not to mention if you aren't the giver you're the receiver in prison.  Which would you rather be and what would you do to keep it from being done to you?

Personally I prefer being a law abiding person and staying out of jail.
