I can't understand why some think you need a religion because I'm doing fine without one.

  1. because those religious people have that "holier than thou" attitude.

  2. Living your life without religion may be working for you now, but what are you going to do when this earthly life comes to its natural end.

Pray that the Lord leads you to Catholicism.  It will bring joy to your earthy life and joy to your eternal life in the here-after.

    Pray For Mother Angelica

  3. Sinner....

Life without God is no life.

  4. They think that there is no point in life without some God-ordained higher purpose. I would know; I was one of them.

Really, I can't blame them for seeing things that way when they have their first taste of anything that makes them seriously question their faith. If we're not here for any particular reason, why even bother existing? But really, there is something beautiful about not having a pre-ordained purpose. *You* determine what your purpose is while you're here- for yourself.

  5. well religion gives certain protections with some wise ideas, with no one to enforce it. Religion like christianity do what the bible or Jesus ask to their followers and that was to preach the word of God. I can't believe why people even ask the same question over and over. you can choose your religion or not to have it all together. understand one thing they do it because they believe they are helping you, if you can't see that then you are blind. politely say no thank you, i don't believe.

  6. Human nature darlin'...a flaw in logic makes it difficult for us to  understand how someone could have a "proper life or be happy" without anything that WE derive a satisfying or happy life from possessing!

We look at someone who doesn't have indoor plumbing and think that they couldn't possibly have a proper life if they have to carry water for a mile.  We look at a friend who doesn't own a television set (or a computer or a video game system or a car or whatever) and wonder how anyone could be happy without one.

Thus, when a person who derives their purpose and happiness from religion looks at someone who has no religion, it isn't surprising they wonder how that person could be happy or productive without it.

I accept that you think you're doing fine without a religion...I think your life would be improved beyond your imagination if you chose to follow Jesus.  That doesn't mean I think you are unhappy or unfulfilled...you just haven't reached your full potential.  I can accept that you don't agree because that is your choice...define your own purpose or follow God's purpose...both can lead to happiness and fulfillment here on earth...one just offers a greater level of happiness and fulfillment for a much longer period of time...

  7. You would need to read your Bible to have a better understanding of there perspective,

I used to think the same thing,

But my friend asked me, What's it going to hurt to believe?

If you believe, and it's true you get to spend eternal life in heaven.

If it's not, you have still lived a good life.

  8. yep

  9. Because that's the way they were brought up.

  10. Good for you! I'm Deist and believe the consciousness of the entire universe is God. I have no religion. Believe whatever you want or not.

Why do you call the TRUTH, "religious bias c**p?"

Because that's what it is, the TRUTH.

  11. Because sadly, most of them actually believe what they preach.

  12. Well, it's a personal choice. I know for myself, I would not be happy without religion in my life. Others are just fine without it and probably better off without it. IT all depends on the specific person.

I left my church for several years, and discovered I was happier in the church than I was out of it. I don't know, part of that might have been the ingrained sense of duty that I've had since I was a young child. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for me, because religion has kept me from making some major mistakes in my life.

Sometimes I honestly envy people who can get through life without God. I think some people are just looking for something to fulfill them, and for a lot of us, religion does that.  This doesn't mean I believe any less in my church.... that it fulfills me, and that's a big part of why I do it.... I mean that my belief is what fulfills me. I think I'm starting to confuse the issue now, so I'll let it go at that.

  13. It is very hard to do the right things, when you criticize others for doing the right thing. Do you get my point?

  14. religion comes in many forms but all are dead,a personal relation ship with the living christ is life he who has life has the son, jesus said without me you can do nothing he is speaking spiritualy.abide in the vine, and you will bear much fruit, this is also spiritual, love, joy, peace, patience,he also says you must have the spirit living in you to understand spiritual thing,oh by the way jesus is truth!

  15. Most people are Followers, they need someone else to tell them what to think, feel, believe and do.

I once got royally screwed out of a job by a woman who always wore her "What Would Jesus Do" bracelet.

But it's easy to s***w people, judge people, lie, backstab and be a total hypocrit when you're just gonna run to some church at the end of the week and "Be Forgiven" How convenient, then they get to start over on Monday.

  16. You know, most religions have moral and ethical values that are common sense to everyone. It can give a proper way to act that works with modern society. I follow Islam and I'm perfectly fine. And I personally do not have a "Holier than thou" attitude, I'm not supposed to have that type of attitude and yes I do think of you as an individual and I do respect your opinion to not have a religion.

The reason they think you can't live a proper life is because some people feel something empty in their life if they don't follow a certain creed. It gives them a purpose in life, a purpose such as bringing change or good upon humanity. Even if you can do this without a religion.

Give me one person who does not have a religion and does not drink, gamble, lie or cheat. That they are courteous to all their fellow human beings and can do all of that without any due reverence to a higher power. Give me that one person who can hold off from temptations and live a good natured life without something to guide them, and I'll have met my match.

But you see, when ever some people do not have any restrictions or boundaries in this 'modern' world, they run rampant on pornography, immodesty, foul language, disrespect, any and all things forbidden in my religion. Now I know no one is perfect, but can they still live a proper life without the help of religion? Answer me that.

Oh and to the ones saying that Jesus is the truth ._.

I hate to break it to you, but Jesus is not the son of God because "Ash hadu an la illaha illa la, wa ashaduan muhamadan rasulallah" There is no God but God, and Muhammad is his messenger. I can also include the verse where it says he has no partners and no offspring. We are not the children of God, Adam was a creation of God.

So, because I shall be subjective to my own religion, purchase a Qur'an and see the truth before you.

  17. They don't want there religion to be wrong. So they convince  themselves that they can't be happy without it.
