It depends on the weather.

White thobes for summer, other colors like yellow, brown, black, blue for winter.

But what you said is right, the white is the standard cuz it's standard to be hot here in Saudi :P

I am not an expert on the colour of thobes, but I think it is perfetly fine wearing a light blue or yellow if one wants.

White is the traditional one, showing purity in Islam.

But there is no prohibition in other colours, except I think bright orange.

Also the material can be anything but silk for men.

It depends on which area.... White is not a standard but it is the most preferred because it doesn't absorb heat.. Its freaking hot in Saudi

In winter time or in colder areas (Northwest or Southwest) they prefer other colors because they are warmer

but some people dont like there thobes white.

maybe they have a thing for white or somthing but...
