I saw a picture of Raphael Nadal biting the trophy he just won in tennis... I've seen Cristiano Ronaldo do it as well.

They do it when they're having a picture taken... what does it mean and where does it come from?

  1. I honestly have no idea........................maybe its becouse there hungry for more?

  2. You bite metal to check its quality - its a way of sportsmen showing that what they've won is real!

  3. umm... taste of victory?? haha

  4. They are copying Elizabeth Manley who bit her figure skating silver medal at the 1988 Calgary winter games

  5. You can bite metals like gold and silver because they are soft enough to mark with your teeth.  People used to do this in transactions to be sure they were getting real gold and silver.  Now, it's a joke, and... it's not very funny!  I'm willing to bet most who do it don't even get the joke!

  6. To check it's made of real gold or silver I think, as like a joke

  7. Maybe they think they are the foil covered chocolate ones.

  8. Its an ego thing, because if you bite it you can tell its real or not, so in pictures you can show people that you have won something big because your trophy/medal is real.
