Why do some teams' fans make it impossible to cheer for the opposing team?

I live near Philly and have been a fan of the Cowboys for 30 years. I can't go see them play in Philly unless I want to die. My husband says I should go without any Cowboys apparel and keep my mouth shut, but what fun would that be? I love my team, I love football and I would LOVE to see them. I had to go to Miami with my brother last year, who is a Dolphins fan-bless his heart, to see my first game. I like to give credit where credit is due---I hate the Eagles but Westbrook is a phenonomal RB..but would I say that to anyone I know that loves that team? NO!!! Because no matter what happens, the Eagles are the best thing since sliced bread. My 15 yr old plays football for the high school, been a player for 6 years. He loves the Cowboys too and last time he wore his Witten jersey to school, kids ridiculed the c**p out him. I think its sad, aren't we in AMERICA where you can speak your mind, root for the other team, without being in fear for your life? Eagles fans make me sick.

  1. come on lady!! are you serious? your afraid to go to a philly cowgirls game? i grew up in DC and i hate the cowboys, but my brother who is a cowgirls fan, we went to RFK stadium and watched tom laundrys last win. i even wore a cowgirls jersey to the game. the redskins fans were trying to get to me and my brother but we talked trash back to them. i guess your not good at talking trash. sorry for you!!! besides your team sucks and the STEELERS will win the game this year against your cowgirls!!! lol. buy the way, philly is a dump!!!! except for the sixers!!! lol. relax. im just having fun with you.

  2. Cowboy fans are the MAIN reason I hate the Cowboys.

They, in general, Cowboy fans dont remember history.  I was in a bar last year watching the ending of the Cowboys-Eagles.  When they lost, I was laughing with a friend, when one of the Cowidiots took offense and noticed my tattoo of my Dolphins and said, "Why you laughing, your Dolphins Suck."  I was like, "Yeah we do.  We have a lot of rebuilding, but we'll be back."

Then he said, "At least the Cowboys never went 1-15."  Thats when I lost it.  What did 1989 not happen?  Was it erased forever in Dallas?

  3. Sorry im an Eagles fan and I've been to a Philly vs Cowboys game and the Philly fans can be brutal and I apologize on behalf of all the Eagles fan who respect other teams fans... they have no right to treat you like that... you should be able to wear any Boys apparel that you want... and you can't say all Eagles fans make you sick becuase I respect all teams fans equally no matter the rivalery... im 15 so I don't have many games between the Eagles and other teams that adults have... sorry they were like that

  4. Haha i feel you. Long time Cowboys fans (my father is from Texas) and i live in Georgia. I've been to bunch of Atlanta Falcon games wearing my 'Boys jersey and i actually don't mind being ridiculed  for wearing it.

Its all just jealousy of the Cowboys success.

By the way if you think Eagle fans are bad...to go a Reskins-Cowboys game in DC. Fans were burning crosses with Cowboys jerseys on them yellin cuss words and throwing beer at you

Loved by alot, hated by few, envied by all

  5. Don't be such a wimp. Grow some thicker skin. If you want to live in an area and root for the home teams most hated rival then you should be able to take the heat.

  6. Try being a Colt fan going to BawlSomeMore!

Whine! Whine! Whne!  Those Indy b******s stole our team!

And that was just the news in the hotel.  The stadium was even worse.

It was truly unbelievable!  They have a 13-3 team poised for a Super Bowl run and all they can do is blame everyone else for the fact that they refused to upgrade Memorial Stadium and drove the franchise to the brink of bankruptcy. Then they threatened to steal it judicially when the owner wanted to excercise his property rights and move to a new location.  They had a successful team and could do nothing but moan about the one they let get away 24 years earlier.

Just a sickening display of bitter, whiny, fans!

  7. I know exactly where you are coming from. I live in South Texas and i love the Green Bay Packers. Cowboy fans are just ridiculous. I wore my Jersey and cheese head to work last year when Dallas played the Packers and the guys at work were terrible. I have respect for other fans and peoples property. These cowboy fans do not. My cheese head was torn apart and thrown away. I had it locked in my locker at work. Someone broke into my locker and destroyed it. I stopped to get gas after work and some kid pulled a knife out and threatened to cut my Jersey. All because i was a fan for the team playing against the cowboys..... Some people just have no class.

    Rob Y = an idiot

  8. The NFL has a policy that is supposed to keep that from happening and so the fans can enjoy the games wherever they go.  But Philly is a whole different monster.  That's why they have a courtroom and judge in the stadium on game day.

  9. Yep, that's sports nation for you. Eagles and Cowboys, Yankees and Redsox, Sooners and Longhorns, etc. You just can't do it. I'm a New York Yankee fan, and guess what i did in Fenway Park. Absolutely nothing cause the guy next to me was a Red Sox fan with a gun. Sometimes its worth it to be quiet, even thought its not fun, cause there are some people so crazy over their sports teams out there...

    I totally understand.

  10. So I make you sick?

    * sigh * typical Cowboys fan

And yes, they are the best thing since sliced bread. Geeze grow some balls and deal with it. If youre too scared to go to a game with a Cowboys jersey on, then thats your problem, not the Eagles fans.

And Andy, Lincoln Financial Field does NOT have a courtroom, that was the vet

  11. I get that for wearing an OSU jersey in Michigan.

  12. Aw. Boo-hoo. Move to Dallas then.

  13. Hi, I definitely understand. I'm a Ravens fan outside of Philly as well. Having lived most of my life in Jersey, I never had to deal with this from Giants or Jets fans. It seems that football can bring out ignorant, tribal collectivism in people as strongly as any other kind (religious, racist, nationalistic, etc.)

People seem to get lost in "hating the uniform" and forget that it's /supposed/ to be fun. A smack-talk between different fan is great, but sometimes people take it out of hand. Just two weeks ago, a Steelers fan tried to pick a fight while I was wearing my Heap jersey. Remember, it's "Iggles" fans that threw snowballs at Santa. :)
