My 14 year old sister thinks shes an adult. She thinks shes to old to get along with me and my brothers we are 10. She always makes fun of us and think shes in charge of us and makes us do stuff for her. Is this normal for teenage sisters?

  1. this is actually very normal..b/c she is a few years older than you so she feels she is superior to you...when infact..thats all she is, is a few years older..you seem to be very mature..but the older siblings usally dont pay attention to that..they like to stick to hanging out with people more there age..dont worry ..in a few more years she'll start treating you more as an equal..until then..just dont worry about it. you dont have to listen to her b/c she is not your mother or father..so if she tries to boss you around just ignore her.

  2. you need to realize that she is not your age. she is older than you but she is also not an adult.

i thought i was an adult when i was 11 and now looking back i laugh at how wrong and young i was.

you dont have to listen to everything she says unless yoru parents say. and just play kid games around her and such and shell realize how mush she misses them.

im 15 and i love playing little kid games with the kids i babysit :]

    Good Luck :]

  3. shes just being bossy and likes to be in charge

i deff dont act like an adult im 15 i still play kiddy games with my little sister and watch kiddy movies and shows :)

  4. all teenagers reach a point usually around 13 when they think they know everything and everyone else is an idiot its just the way things

go. its part of the growing up process

  5. she just wants to be seen as a responsible and mature and i guess that her way of doing it and o her video games might be childish but not to everyone. i'm 13 and i still play video games,

  6. for the oldest yes, for other teenagers. maybe. just know that since she thinks she is an adult she doesn't need childish things like video games.

  7. Yes its normal. Most teenagers are self centered and have a god complex whether you like it or not. I have a brother who is nine and I don't get along with him at all. She is going through a lot of stuff you aren't. It will all even out when you both reach adulthood.

  8. some teenagers are actually very mature. i think of myself as very mature for my age. i know what to do in an emergency situation, and i always think about things before i do them.  please have respect for you older sister. if your parents were to die, she would be the only thing you have. it is good that she is acting like an adult.

  9. It's normal but it's not good.

    She's extremely immature.

14 year olds are not at all adults, she's being ridiculous.

But really there's nothing you can do!

Btw, you sound really intelligent for being 10?!

  10. maybe you might think that she's acting like an adult, but there is a big difference in maturity between 10 and 14.  and if she's the oldest, she probably matures faster, cause the oldest are always asked to do everything.  i'm 16 and have a younger sister who is 13 and i have to tell her what to do cause she gets annonying and does some things that are stupid and i have to correct them.

  11. I don't!!!  I love being a kid!!  I wanna stay young for as long as possible :)

I wish Neverland was a real place, because I would definitely go there!!

Normally when teens want to be all ''grown-up" they just want to feel more independent and not feel like they have parents with them all the time.  Your only a kid for a short amount of time....but your an adult most of your life.  Enjoy the kid part as much as you can! :)

    I am!!

  12. she is a YOUNG ADULT.

& unless she is babysitting you guys or something, she really doesn't have any control over you.

  13. its just her way of being in control.

im a  teen and i dont act like that at all though.

  14. Why are you awake at 10:30 and on yahoo answers if you are 10?

  15. Compared to a ten-year-old she IS a grownup.

  16. ok first of all u are 10 years old and shouldn't be here...

im 14 yrs old as well and i ask my lil bro and sis to do things for me too but my sister says no why u do it if she is threatening you then you should tell your parents if she is baby-sitting either of u 2 then she is the oldest and you should respect her as an adult because she probably doesnt want either of you getting hurt

  17. She's immature. Most people who feel the need to act like that are. She looks down on you because she's insecure. She knows she's not all that, she just hopes you don't know it.

Y!A says you must be this old (13) to ask/answer a question!

  18. it's better that she thinks shes an adult than a little kid, but if she thinks shes an adult, treat her like one! teenagers somewhat need to think they are adults because they only have so long before they have to face the real world.

    EDIT:

i didn't mean to respect her, but give her a taste of it. if she tells you to do something for her, say "no, you're the adult, you do it"

she'll get the picture and stop
