Why do some vegetarians eat seafood?

seafood is a type of meat too...so y do vegetarians eat seafood as well as the other veges?

  1. Fish is meat! It has muscle and flesh..

    I think people that do eat seafood are on a "vegetarian" diet for health reason not for animal rights.


  2. it is meat, your right, but perhaps certain vegetarians feel that there is a difference between land animals and fish. or they are just more lenient in their definition of vegetarian. or maybe.. who knows. every one is different, eh? every little bit of restraint from the meat industry helps if they are vegetarians for animal rights and such, so be it a vegetarian who eats no meat or a person who just eats fish, their actions are helpful.

  5. Because they became "vegetarians" for health reasons rather than ethical ones.  Plus the Pope doesnt consider seafood meat for some strange reason, that is probably part of the source of confusion.  I don't think most people would consider them vegetarians.
