  1. I have had them and I think they look nice, but my horses have learned how to shake them off of their heads. I have gone back to brow band bridles. People like the style, but I won't have them anymore.

  2. It's just a fashion statement. I love them. Alamo Saddlery (jewelry on tack) They have some beautiful ones. They can highlight the shape or your horses head how small their ears are ( My biggest horse peeve is a horse with big ole mule ears)

  3. Just a preference; many years ago a heavily silvered browband was all the rage in the western classes...now it's the single ear headstall.  OR,

    A double eared show headstall.

  4. Its just the riders preference. Its also a little bit of a QH fashion. I like it because it really shows off my horses head.

  5. Like all the other answers have said its just the style.

  6. its just the style of them... its like us.. idk if you wear jewelry.. but its like a human wearing fancy necklaceses. its just a design. i own one and i think its great.. it holds the bridle in place but looks so bare and beautiful. i love it!

  7. It's the style, and they're easier to put on in my opinion.

  8. The headstall your talking about is a one ear headstall some are even made as a double ear. Some are sliders and others are fitted. They are mostly used a fashion to display a horses pretty head. Some people just prefer them although they are only for an experienced horse since there is no throat latch.

  9. Its just a personal preference.  You can get the two eared, brow band, futurity knot, or the single slip ear.  You can get them with the extra strap under the jowels or not also.

I personally really like the single slip eared look, it really shows off a pretty head, and its easy to pull on/off.  I like showing in a double-slip ear because it looks more symmetrical.

  10. It is just a style and they are split eared headstalls! Kind of like headstalls without a browband!

  11. its just the style

  12. simply style. :)

  13. It's just the style. I have one of those bridles and they are very easy to put on. There are also ones that just go around the head and in my opinion those are the easiest to put on.

  14. Its preference. Some shows don't allow split ear bridles. But it is all preference. I don't care for most of them I like brow bands better.
