Question:

Why do some women act like jerks and hide under the guise of being "honest"?

i hate when someone says "your hair looks TERRIBLE" or "you look FAT in that outfit" and when someone looks offended, they claim that they're just being "honest". there is a big difference between giving an honest opinion when asked, and just being a rude and hurtful b*tch. if someone doesn't agree with someone else's choice of clothing or style, they can simply say something as simple as, "i don't like it for myself, but if you like it, that's all that matters." i really hate that women are more guilty of this type of behavior than men. what gives people the right to be "honest" and hurtful and mean, rather than being respectful to the feelings of others?

  1. That happened to me, I was like, "Dude this chick is a total *****." Then my female friend replies, "No she is just brutally honest."

    ....

    Needless to say.

  2. i lived in 3 different continents and i've noticed its more common in america to lie to cover up the hurtful truth, its good short term, but later when u find out shes lying, u badly hate the girl, its annoying to me

i like honest, as long as its true, it can be hurtful, it doesnt matter, its good

  3. I think there's a difference between being honest and being rude!

I would never tell someone their hair looked terrible or that they looked fat.  But if one of my close friends really did have particularly bad hair, I would definitely say something.  I'd just try to be polite.  And if someone looked fat in an outfit I might say that I wasn't sure it flattered her as much as some of her other outfits.

But if it wasn't a close friend I'd keep my mouth shut!

  4. Being honest and being hurtful are two different things. A person can still be honest without being mean. It's all about how the message is delivered.

  5. Grandma was right. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

  6. If you ask a question, be prepared for an honest answer.  If the comment was unsolicited, then I am on your side.  I too find women to be more critical of one's appearance, even though they claim that one's personality and intelligence are the things that matter most.  They do it because there is power behind it.  Women usually use words to hurt or control others.

Unfortunately, men use other more physical, economic, illegal, and political  means to do so.

  7. Women in general are dishonest, selfish people that have a "privilege complex." Women are also incredibly rude. Most women I know allege that women are far ruder than men.

If you think women in general suck from your perspective as a woman -- try being a man!

Women can't stand other women, and men definitely can't stand women either.

  8. Evil, antisocial, narcissistic, sociopathic, psychopath Harpies or just plain nasty ---king -itches.

  9. Do you want them to be honest or do you want a lie?  Suggesting that they say " I don't like it for myself, but if you like it..." would be a lie.  If you don't want someones opinion, don't ask for it.

If my *** looks big in something I would rather know.

  10. Honestly it depends on the situation and how sensitive you are...if you ask and the person is really close to you then why not give an honest  answer...but if you didn't ask and they make a stupid remark just let them now to go about there business, because you didn't invite them in yours....

    Simple

  11. Give me honesty every time.  The best friends are those who you know will tell you the truth even if it hurts.

Those who can't take the truth should not ask for it.

  12. if you asked- that's being honest

if you did not ask- thats being a jerk

  13. The thing I don't get is why other women give a c**p about your hair in the first place.

Too much time on their hands I guess. Can't remember that last time I noticed someones hair or clothes unless they were sporting something that was absolutely ridiculous.
