Why do some women pluck all their eyebrows out,and then pencil them back in?

Nothing I see on the face more beautiful than natural eyebrows, well-groomed.  Guess what?  Most men feel the same way whether they have the nerve to tell you or not.

When I see a woman with her eyebrows drawn on, I immediately see her as how she'll look as an old woman with bright lipstick, "rouge" and drawn on silver/gray eyebrows.  It ages them immediately.  Also, think what the guy wakes up to - eyebrow pencil smudges on the pillow and different looking girl than he went to sleep with.

On the other hand, some people lose them through no fault of their own - like my sister who had hers plucked out by a merciless sisterinlaw about 40 years ago.  She's a blonde and the damned things never grew back.  I'm begging her to get them tattooed (sp?) on so she'll never have to draw another eyebrow on again.  I still would like to smack the ex sis in law for disfiguring my sweet beautiful sister :-)

I think you mean why do they remove them completely.

Some people than others, have more messy hair brows. They don't necessarily have to be thick. Being thick is one thing, & vertically wide is another.

I have a very little thick eyebrows but not wide. This means I don't need a pencil to fill the spaces out in them.

So one's brows' hair direction of growth could not be as straight as the rest of the brow's hair. You can focus & pluck the right ones. You can use the gel mascara to keep your brows in place.

Other people choose to do it easier & completely remove the eyebrows. They have them drawn by a permanent tattoo which most of the time, don't look natural.

Ha, they are busy plucking or shaving then they take a good look in the mirror to realise they can no longer see their eyebrows. Solution - draw them in. Amusing lol.

I have absolutely no idea. I have never plucked/waxed/ shaved my eyebrows and am still alive!! I could maybe sympathise if they were to have some of those huge strands poking out, like Patrick Moore, but otherwise, I don't see the point!!

When you pencil them in it makes them look more defined, Usually eyebrows tend to have gaps in them that makes them look less defined. Try using an eyebrow pencil once and you'll see the differance it makes.. be warned tho.. only use an eyebrow pencil IF you have plucked eyebrows with no stray hairs, otherwise it will just end up looking sloppy.

People often overlook their eyebrows but i think it defines your whole look. Think about it it lifts your whole eye area up!

There is no explanation. It seems that some ladies like the "lap dancer eyebrow".  Even worse are the ones who shape them to resemble sperm. Utter stupidity.

I think they just shave them off, as opposed to plucking them.

Crazy eyebrows that can't be shaped, she gives up then she just draws them back in. Sometimes, it looks super s**y, but sometimes utter ****

I think its because they find it an easier way to keep them in shape as sometimes one eyebrow can be slightly higher than the other or something.

I don't understands what happens when it rains though, do they wash off?

some of these women might have alopecia and have lost their hair including eyebrows or just eyebrows due to this. however some of them might not and have just plucked too much without realising and then it's too late.

I think they like the surprised look; they think it makes them look eternally youthful. Actually it makes them look eternally psychiatrically challenged.

Tell me about it.. how does anyone find that attractive? It's so fake looking and throws off the entire face. I think it probably has something to do with the fact that it IS hair and it is on the FACE which might cause some girls to feel that the hair makes them more masculine in some way.... which IS ridiculous but it's the best thing I could think of.

As a woman I can't understand why they do this either because eyebrows don't normally grow back again. It's just plain lunacy I think because pencilled in eyebrows look terrible.

Who knows?  I never have and never will. I can understand women plucking or waxing if they have really bushy eyebrows that like meet in the middle but I never did get the pencilling back it bit.

Does the eyebrow make up run if you sweat or it rains? You'd get black lines down your face lol
