  1. A lot of times people who's parents are alcoholics have to lie or cover up the things gong on in their house hold because they are ashamed of what people might think.  


  2. Fear.  Shame.  An emotional attachment.  Wanting to be "normal" whatever that is.  At least, that's why I lied.
