Question:

Why do spiders choose to live in our homes? Don't you think there would be more "pickins" for food OUTSIDE?

Do they like starving? Or do they eat us while we sleep???

  1. Which came first: the spiders or the houses?  I suspect your house is where the spiders were first so actually you are in their space...so go figure that they still hang out. Plus, it does provide shelter.


  2. Spiders want nothing to do with you. They don't feed on humans and usually run away from any animal larger than themselves. Most of them can only see a few inches so they may sense you by vibration but can't see you - you're not a part of their world.

    You're right, indoors is the last place most spiders want to be; it's too dry and food (insects or other spiders) is scarce.  If they bumble their way indoors just remember they're not that bright. Some of them do OK - like cellar spiders - but then your cellar is similar to their natural habitat. If you have a lot of spiders in your home, you probably have a lot of insects as well. If it's just one or two, what's the big deal?
