  1. because running really fast often builds bigger muscle while running long distance makes u lose fat and makes you more lean

  2. because the sprinters need quick burst that can be gained by bigger muscles so they have more weight training in their programs. while distance runners need endurance not quick burst of speed. so they dont o as much weight training hence smaller muscles.

  3. sprinters are built for explosive power and need muscle that can give them speed whereas long distance runners need muscle for endurance and stability not speed but to last long
