Why do squrrials usually live in trees?

  1. Squirrels may not always be seen in trees but they are totally dependent on them. The mast that the trees produce (acorns, pecans, etc..) provide them with food as does the new growth in the form of new twigs. The trees also allow the squirrels a place to flee from predators.
