  1. this is the 21st century; you're looking at planes, not stars!

  2. Because of the Earth's atmosphere!

  3. In reality stars, actually dont' twinkle. The twinkle is caused from the atmospehere, temperatures, and density. Stars are so far away that the image of a stable light of a star is impossible to see. as the atmosphere is changing the stars image moves along thus seeing a twinkle.

  4. When you look at the stars you are looking at them through several miles of atmosphere.  The atmospheric fluctuations in temperature, motion, etc. distort the light waves from the stars and give the appearance of "twinkling".  If you were able to see the same stars from a vantage point void of any distorting medium like our atmosphere the stars would appear constant.

  5.   A star is a single point of light,it has no disc.

Any slight disturbance in the atmosphere disturbs the whole star and distorts it's light this causes it to twinkle.

A planet is close enough to show a disc so the atmosphere does not disturb the whole star so they don't twinkle.

  6. its because light coming from stars refract many times because of  different atmospheric layers before reaching our eyes
