  1. If you go down to the bottom of a deep well and look up, you can see stars even in the day time.

  2. they are there all the time, but you can only see them in the night.

  3. Stars are there all the time. It's simply to bright to see them in the day!

  4. There always out. THe thing is, the light from the sun is too bright to see them

  5. I like going out at night to see stars.  If i'm impatient, i'll start before sunset.  You can see the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn (if it's up), Mars, Venus, and of course the Earth during the day.  I've seen Venus at noon through a telescope.  You have to know where to look, and the boiling atmosphere makes it dance all over.  And many of the brighter stars can be seen in the daytime.  It helps to have a tracking mount that's aligned.

But the best views are at night when the contrast between the sky and the object of your heart's desire is best.

And of course, there's one star that's easy to find and absurdly bright, but you have to wait until morning to see it.

  6. Actually it is possible to see the brighter stars during the day but you have to know exactly where they are and you have to look very closely.  But for all practical purposes the Raleigh scattering which creates our pretty blue sky, and the brightness of the sun hides the stars quite effectively.

  7. if you shine a flashligh at very bright light you can not see it

  8. Actually, stars are present all the time.  It's just that the sky is illuminated from scattering the sun's light that they get washed out.  If you know where to look, in the daytime you *can* see the brighter stars.

  9. stars are there all day ...but you just need the darkness to really see them

also...look outside...you can see the moon most of the time during the day!

  10. Others have answered correctly so I'll just add a note.

The atmosphere scatters the sun's light and makes the daytime sky too bright to make out the dim stars. However, on a planet or moon with no atmosphere the stars shine brightly even with the sun high in the sky.

  11. they don't

    the stars are always there

it's just that you can't see them in the day

because of all the light (sun) there is

please choose me for best answer!!!

  12. Stars are out all the time. However the Sun is so bright during the day you can't see them.

Think of it like this. If you placed a small candle in a room next to a flood light, the light given off by that candle would be very small compared to the flood light. You would probably need to turn the flood light off even to even see the candle. It's the same thing with the Sun during the day.

It is also worth noting that the farther you can get from the light  pollution of city lights, the more stars you can see. If you get the chance, go way out in the country on a clear night. You will see more stars than you ever thought possible.
