  1. This is in the NASCAR section because.........?

  2. I've seen hoods painted Flat Black on Muscle Cars and Stock Car's since the 60's. The reason is to simply reduce the glare of the bright sunlight that might otherwise reflect off a polished shiny hood into the drivers face.

If your talking about Tuner car's, then the hood is made from carbon fiber and black is it's natural color and unpainted..

  3. carbon fiber, its lighter therefore speeding up the car, most of all its for looks though

  4. As has been said, the hoods are carbon fiber which is light but very strong material. Carbon fiber usually isn't painted so this is why from the outset it is left in its black to dark grey colour...which is essentially black.

  5. I assume you are talking about carbon fiber which is is lighter, otherwise, it is like one big stripe I guess.

  6. Because the rest of their car is black? And street racing cars are not illegal. It's the act of street racing that is considered illegal.

  7. I Havn`t seen any black ones yet,  seeing that most street racing is done illegally after dark, maybe they only looked like they were black,  could have been any other dark color.

  8. Most aren't actually black, they're carbon fiber. Carbon fiber hoods are significantly lighter than the stock ones. But street racing is stupid; keep it on the track.
