I've always wondered the same thing myself; but seeing as I have this particular liking for men in briefs ... well, it's fine with me.  Yes, you can call me a perv if you want to.  I know all about that.

cuz when you are saving the world, nobody is really gonna give you a hard time about how your dressed. plus, i do that sometimes just cuz i'm cool.
