I have seen several of the Olympic trials this week and saw the swimmers do this. Is there a scientific answer or is it just tradition or a good luck practice?

  1. For some it may be good luck, but most its to get a feel for the chems and temp of the pool. Personally i think it just tastes wonderful :-)

  2. Hey, have you ever watched a Baseball game and seen all the antics these guys do for every pitch?  Same thing for swimmers.

You would be surprised at what you can taste in pool water.

    You're welcome!!

  3. They just need to get a feel of the water and know what kind of condition the water is in before they jump in the water.
