Question:

Why do teachers complain so much?

All my teachers complain about how much they get paid. When they get out of college they get paid about 30,000 dollars a year. They get great insurance. They get off every holliday. They get off all of summer. My entire family is teachers and they agree with me. Most of them are high school or middle school teachers in my family, and they still don't have to grade that many papers. They get free periods every day to grade them during school. So why don't all you liberal cry babies just quit complaining about your pay. And also every teacher i have ever had is so liberal it is obnoxious. Talk about obama like he is the best thing to ever happen. Complain about everything, complain about republicans.

  1. While there are many teachers who complain a lot, some don't.  And I can tell you that I am a teacher myself and am definitely NOT a liberal.  I'm one of the only Republicans at my school.  And while I agree that teachers get a lot of breaks, you do need to keep in mind that teachers spend a lot of hours outside of school time not just grading but preparing lesson plans and things like that.  There is also a lot of pressure on teachers from parents, administrators, etc to make sure that every single one of their students succeeds no matter the cost.  I'm not saying its a bad job, I love my work.  And all that other stuff I just look at it as you do, I have a lot of pressure on me when school is in session but I get a lot of time off too!  I love teaching and not because of the breaks I get but because I truly enjoy my students.

  2. Talk about complainers... what is it you were just doing while you were writing? Try running your own classroom and maybe you will see things from a different point of view!

  3. There are 2 sides in my answers:

    One side:

    1) If the teachers continue complaining about school, tell them to quit the job. Teaching is not their career.

    Opposite side:

    2) if you want to know why the teachers complain so much; - - get a degree in education. if you can not get a degree in education, then quit asking that question.

    - supposing you finish the degree in education; go and teach in either middle or high schools;  if you complain as much as others teacher then teaching is not your career either. Then you would know and may re-think that you should not ask that question.

  4. It's simple.

Because they are stuck in a place they tried for years to escape from as a pupil.

  5. Well, I'm a teacher and I complain a lot. I don't want to be a complainer, but I often still do.  I try hard to stay positive and grateful, but some days I just feel like I want to go 'postal'.

Some folks would tell me to quit my job, but I have a feeling that I'd complain at my new job too and struggle there to stay positive.

I have a lot of good feelings at my job too though, so it's a mixed bag of both gratitude and frustration.

Teaching is not easy though, I agree with the other answerer that you should try it before you assume that it is.

Not all teachers get free periods either, especially at the elementary level.

I agree with you that Obama is over-rated.

    Take it easy,

  6. Some people are natural complainers. They complain about everything, and are never satisfied.

Not all teachers are complainers, they love their profession and their students.

  7. Depends on the teacher. I think its frustration, lack of appreciation and alike. That's about all i can think of. If a teacher puts in 60 to 80 hours a week, then you divide the salary by that, i think the tune would be a tad different. If you are a, pardon my usage, but a 7 to 3 type person, then you are overpaid.

  8. first maybe they r too fussed abt abt there job! handling kids and all..it can be difficult...very difficult actually its lik trying to make some1, who doesnt know a thng abt the subject, understnd it! got wat i mean?
