Why do teachers only get fired for sleeping with their students, but never for bad teaching?

first of all, sleeping with theri students is sick and perverted.

second, I do feel that teachers should be evaluated and performance should be a factor for firing.  but once a teacher is tenured, it is much harder to fire them.  i am a teacher, and have a known 2 teachers in my 8 yearts teaching that should have been let go based on not really trying to teach well.  lazy.but it seems there is a lot of politics going on even in the teaching world.

Teachers are fired for bad teaching, but it is important that teachers be given a chance to change their teaching if it fails to meet the standards of the school.  Teachers who teach badly can learn to teach well.  Sleeping with a student is not the type of behavior that can be corrected.

Students are notoriously bad judges of good teaching.  Many teaching styles which students believe to be bad teaching are, in fact, good teaching styles which the students do not like.

Sleeping with a student is illegal.

because sleeping with students is immoral and illegal. Bad teaching is bad but sometimes the higher authority doesn't know. If there are enough complaints about bad teachings, they would get fired.
