Everytime Im out on the road these teenagers drive crazy and extremely reckless all the time. A week ago I was walking on a residential street and this teenager was zooming through over 100 miles an hour. It was crazy! Everytime im riding in my moms car or driving, teenagers are always tailgating and following up close and swerveing through cars and roaring the engine for stupidity and speeding extremely reckless just to show off with their friends. Watching teenagers drive is a nightmare! One time I was in a parking garage and this 16 year old was zooming and blasting his engine through the garage. Giving these young teenagers the license to drive is like giving them the license to kill. Why do teenagers drive like this? Whats wrong with them?

  1. Teens are highly susceptible to peer pressure. Some research has shown that even “the mere physical presence of peers increases the likelihood of teens taking risks.”

  2. They don't stop and think about what could happen.  For instance killing someone or theirself.  They are immature and nonresponsible.  Oh yea when they go for the driving test they act all perfect but get them out on the road alone or with a car load of kids and they think they own the road.  The cell texting while driving and the talking on cell phones is causing so many wrecks.  The teenagers think they are invisible.  I hope some read this and slow down and get off their phones while driving.  If they could only see someone lying in a hospital bed ina coma or about to die because of the very thing they do daily maybe this would change their driving habits.

  3. its like asking why guys get a bon er when he sees naked girls

  4. Its just plain thrilling when your younger, I loved driveing fast and reckless when I was younger, its a thrill thing for me.

  5. First of all, you are generalizing. Not all teenagers drive like psychopaths as you claim. In my experience, some teens are actually better drivers than adults because they are new to the task of driving and are more cautious.

What about adults that drive like idiots? I see more soccer moms who drive crazy than teenagers. These 40 something women drive huge Ford Excursions and Super Duty trucks that they are not only unqualified to drive, but too short. Then, they try to talk on their cellphone, do their nails and scold their spoiled child all while they drive in rush-hour traffic on the busiest road in town!

And 15 year olds can't get a license, they can only get a permit that allows them to drive only with their parents.

  6. It is a combination of incompletely activated/developed brain and a feeling of invincibility.

  7. If you think it's bad here in the US try down in South America. Everyone drives like that there and it's the norm.Anyway, the answer is, you can't really have kids who have to get to work and yet can't drive. Some jobs would allow riding a bike or riding public transport but some jobs would be simply unreachable without someone driving a motorized vehicle.

  8. white guys with big trucks. Nothing can stop them. its simple. They wanna go fast, so they will run you over to get there.

  9. I think the only thing teenagers don't have in common with the rest of the age groups is this: they're NEW to driving.

Therefore, being new, means two things: they're inexperienced and eager to get out there and test drive.

These two traits cause them to be a little more careless; maybe not always intentionally, but still, it's there.

Tater, the Asker never said ALL teenagers, as YOU claim.

Plus, he never asked about old people either, so that shouldn't even be a part of your answer.

Read the question a little closer next time.

  10. Lack of experience.  Thrill-seeking.

Old people are worse.  At least younger people have reflexes.

Teenagers aren't the only ones who tailgate or speed.

  11. alright.. you're frustrated. so what?

do you think the government is gonna change the law for you or what? ignore them and let it be, go drink a tea and calm down. geez

they're kids, they want attention. simple
