  1. im not embarrassed to be seen w/ my parents. i go out w/ my parents all the time =]

    im a 14 y/o girl btw

  2. I go out with my mom all the time and i don't care if anyone sees me..its my mom..she loves me and if my friends see me they say hi..of course you get looks but i truly don't care.

  3. Well I'm 14 and most of the time I don't mind going out with my mom at all, actually most of the time I find it quite enjoyable. I think what's shown a lot of TV sitcoms is that parent's are not cool and don't know what's going on, and that if you hang out with your parent you're a "loser", which I don't see why the media puts that out there. But anyways, in all actuality they are the best advice givers and they are the ones who will guide you in the right direction.

  4. because most parents make fools out of themselves which is embarrassing for anyone who knows them

  5. I guess I'm just afraid of running into people I know from my school. Or other teens, hanging out together. Makes me feel kind of dorky, otherwise I don't mind going out with my parents. If I see another teen with their parents it makes me feel better, though.

  6. i used to get really embarrassed and sometimes i do but i found that if you look like your really nervous and don't want to be with them more people will notices and say something than if you're just with your parents and laughing with them and enjoying yourself... :)

  7. i dont. im almost 17 and i still go out food shopping with my parents. i even go clothes shopping with them (dad too)  and i try to  hang out with my mom on weekends at public places (movies, coffee).

  8. I always go out with my Mom, I'm Fourteen and i dont find it Embarresing at all unless the '' preppy/stupid'' people from school say aload of stuff in front of my mom about birth control and such.

I love my mom, i'd go anywhere with her

  9. i dont know coz my parents are never around (lowlife scum)

but when my mates are with their parents, everyone laughs and says its coz they look like babies still going out with their parents, everyone round my area is tough, so it looks soppy to everybody

    Im 14 btw

  10. I'm 20 so I'm not completely out of the teen scene yet.

Teenagers are trying to figure themselves out-trying to find their own identity. Til now, they have had their parents to mold them into who they currently are. I feel that when a teen goes out with their parents, they feel that people will see what their parents molded rather than who the teen really is. However, the teenager really doesn't know who they are completely.

My parents can be embarassing too so I understand that part. But they love you...believe it or not. :) I know it can be hard, but don't worry about what other people your age say about going out with your parents. Some people don't have parents that will do that. Would you rather have parents that pay attention to you and take you places? Or would rather have parents that were crack heads and didn't care about anything other than themselves?

  11. well personally it's because my mother is embarrassing. she always wants to talk about nothing and it just gets on my nerves and if i like see someone i know then she'll just stand there and listen to our conversation! my mother is like annoying to the 10th power and i don't want other teens to see what i go through

  12. i guess it depends on their relationship with their parents.  i was never embarrassed to go out with my mom.  we'd go shopping together, have lunch, even see a movie once or twice.  we had a good time together.  i can't imagine their being anything to be embarrassed about.  i mean, what are other teens going to say?  "Ooh, so and so likes their mom!"  it's so dumb.  that's not to say she was my bff forever, but i think having lunch with your mom and shopping (esp when she's paying) is pretty cool.

  13. i dont find it embarrasing to go out with them, but they just embarras me a lot. especially my dad always calls me by my nickname which i dont like that he used to call me when i was really little, and hes just extremely embarrasing all the time, and especially when i go to the store with him sometimes when it comes to the girl stuff lol i want to like just walk away from him and i sorta have before because it gets like way to out of hand its so embarrasing lol but my mom sometimes is embarrasing also but i just dont really want to go to the mall sometimes lol and i always go, but i just want to go with friends, but she wont let me but whatever

  14. They might feel like losers because they're hanging out with their parents and it makes them look like they don't have friends. And parents act like idiots sometimes.

  15. Usually I'm not embarassed to be out with my parents.

Until they start criticizing other people.

I can't tell them to be quiet *smack* so I just have to bear it.

But luckily, they usually get tired of "She shouldn't be wearing those clothes at her age" and "He needs to pull up his pants".

  16. I don't find it embarrassing.  I didn't like to go out with them when I was a bit younger (I'm 16 right now) because back in my preteens Iwas boy crazy and being someplace iwth both of my parents I felt like a third wheel. Awkward...

But now I've gotten over that.  I'm not saying I go on dates with my parents now, but I'm fine spending time with both of them now.

  17. I'm 15 too, and honestly im not embarrassed to go out with my parent. Well i either go out with my mom, and well go shopping or something, but i dont go out with my dad that much. but if i did it would not effect me.

I went through that "embarrassed" stage when i was 11 and 12 years old. i didnt even like when my mom called me "cute", lol.

Unless your parent makes a fool of themself, or draws unecessary attention, i dont think anyone should be embarrassed to be with them

  18. i  go out with my mom all the time the only time its embarrising is when she starts singing for no reason

  19. In my case it is because my teen is intimidated by me and in awe of me.  I rock-climb, lift weights, cycle and swim.  I like to wear tank tops and short shorts.  My teen feels insecure because he is overweight.  He'd rather hang with the fat kids at school than his ultra-cool guardian, ME.

  20. I don't think it's embarrassing. I go out with my mom a lot, just the two of us, to dinner or a movie or shopping or whatever. I like spending time with her. The places we go are downtown, where a lot of people go and all teenagers hang out, but I don't really care. I mean, the only people who would judge me for it are the people who I don't want to be friends with anyway. I'm really glad me and my mom have a good relationship, and it's so much better than most teenagers have with their parents.

P.S. You're right--It seems like girls are closer with their parents than boys often are. It's a little more rare, and I like to hear that there are guys out there with your mindset.

  21. it's just a phase most teenagers go through.

  22. im 29 with a family of my own but i still go out with my parents just like i always have they are just jealous thattheir family isnt that close and bonded and that their parents probably dont spend near as much time with them

when you get older you will find that females will do that when you are with your man as well and its for all the same reasons plus they may not have one

  23. i don't care people think its dorky for me to hang with my mom on a saturday?! like come on your only a kid once to hang with your parents maybe i like it because my mom is cool

  24. I don't... O.o

Ones that stare, you can see straight away what kind of houses they come from... They probably stare because they are jealous. Their parents swear at them, and don't care if their 13 year old daughter is out somewhere at 1:00 am in the town -.-

When I walk with my mum no one stares at me except some chavs. Normal teens just do their stuff, why should they care?
