Seriously. In school all the kids are like, "ooo dang your wearing 400$ Jordans that means ur good at basketball". Never mind that the person wearing them is 5''2 and cant run half a mile without passing out. Someone wearing, say low end nikes, new balances, or other "cheap" basketball shoes are made fun of. Thats messed up. Your shoes won't do much in the long run to help you play basketball. Of course, you dont want to play basketball wearing sandals. But you can still shoot , handle, and rebound the ball regardless of what shoes you wear. I buy new shoes only when they are seriously scuffed. I dont collect shoes like a lot of teenagers do. I do fine on the court with my air force 25s. If you wear Jordans, or other 100$+ shoes, thats fine. But never assume that someone else who isnt lucky(or dumb) enough to buy your shoes have less talent. Let me know what you think about this. Personal stories are fine.

  1. Kids today are materialistic and extremely insecure. That sums it up.

  2. I love shoes, and I have plenty of them...

However, I do agree with you. I do not think it's fair when others make fun of people shoes because of the brand ect. Some people simply can not afford it. Others maybe don't like a certain type.

  3. Dude, i agree with u but i can beat any1 15 and younger 1v1 with sandals. seriously lol. Im a beast with em.

  4. Im 28 and thats not a new thing.

  5. It's the latest "FAD". People have been doing such silly things since man knew how to talk. Give it time, it'll go away.

For those who are good players, but don't have the popular shoes, I do have a suggestion, it's called put up, or shut up. Challenge the haves in a game. If they can perform, great, if not, then the rule is that they shut up about what they have because they can't perform. Mean though it may sound, it is one way to change things for the better. Academic excellence would be another way. Get an 'A' in a class, or several classes, or be quiet since the shoes mean nothing about how "good' you really are.

  6. lol, shoes have nothing really to do with how you play

some kids are just spoiled and their parents are just SOOO proud of them and think they are going to go pro so that they want to buy their kid the most expensive bball shoes in the market.  Other parents are more sensible and don't waste that much money buying their kids new shoes every couple months.
