  1. Imagine how it must be over the Mariannas Trench to the east of the Philippines..  The deepest trench in the world.. several miles down...


  2. This is because of the hue of the sun, along with AOL (angle of light) and cloud coverage.

    Also depends on the depth of the sea, which changes with the tides.
