  1. to see which one feels better in their hand and bounces better

  2. Most are looking for the freshest ball, which would have the least amount of fuzziness and is the firmest, to serve with.  The freshest ball travels the fastest in the air. Often though, players will also look for the worst ball in the bunch and put that one in their pocket, so they don't run the risk of using it while they're serving.

  3. It varies from player to player, depending on the stlye of their game. They majority of the players are looking for the balls with the least 'fuzziness' on them so that they travel through the air the quickest

  4. looking for the least played balls so it has the most pressure for the service speed and bounce.

  5. i think they bounce them to test the bounce and find the one with the bounce they like best, plus they test whether or not the ball if "good enough" for them to play with.

    I THINK!

  6. If any of the balls are slightly scuffed and they are serving with a ball that is scuffed and their racket hits the scuffed part of the ball then  there is less grip between racket and ball and the ball can tend to skid off the surface of the racket with a lot less control and less spin that was intended.

  7. Good question. Some of the balls have more fuzz than others. The ones with more fuzz bounce slower and lower. The ones with less fuzz bounce higher and faster. Less fuzz is like new balls, and more fuzz means they have been used a little bit more. A guy like Roger Federer on grass likes to serve right, so he'll choose less fuzz so the serve is more effective and faster. Nadal would choose more fuzz on clay, because it bounces slower.

  8. has far has i know all the tennis balls are the same.and if any are damage.they get rejected.so i do not have a clue.
