  1. In tennis, the serve is the only shot you have full control over. By bouncing the ball a few times before every serve, you get into a rhythm. It helps you focus.

  3. sometimes it's to concentrate, or if they're like me, its just a nervous habit, like when people move their racket strings or hit their hand with the racket
