Why do the Arctic and the Antarctic important for the climate of our planet?

I really need to know this. PLEASE HELP! please give the source (preffered, if u dont, thts okay) i will be asking some other easy (i guess they're easy) questions that i cannot get and hopefully you can and i will give you Best Answer if you really help! THANKS!

  1. They help drive the weather.  The hot air from the Equator rises,as it does it moves north,towards the poles. As it rises,it pulls down the cold air from the poles. If the temps were equal between the Equator, and the poles,the weather would be totally different.


  2. if the snow melts it will cause a world wide flood
