Why do the BBC not report Irish news, unless its Nortthern Irish news?

And why do they only report Northern Irish news when things are bad up there?

  1. because Ireland is rated the most boring country on the planet


  2. why would they, its a seperate country, i dont recall seeing french or dutch or spanish items on the bbc as a regular occurance

  3. Simply, because the BBC is a British company, and Ireland is a foreign country, unlike Northern Ireland, which is part of Britain. The BBC is no worse than most newspapers - they all revel in disasters, wrongdoings and stupidity. Let's face it - the vast majority of people live straightforward, non-newsworthy lives, and given what the media considers to be news these days, we should be grateful we're not making it (the news, that is!).

  4. the republic of ireland is a foregin country and the bbc rarely report on northern ireland...

    just look at the floods happening there at the moment barely a word spoken about it but if that happened in middle england it would hog the headlines  

  5. For the same reason the US news agencies don't give Canadian news- it's a different country!
