Wrigley is in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

When lights were installed in time for the 1989 season, they signed an agreement where no more than 27 games (1/3) would be played at night.

Because they have an agreement with the city and they played only day games until 1988. Their first night game was in 1988. Finally, I believe it's also because Wrigley Field is in the middle of a neighborhood.

it is a tradition goin back to when games where called when it got to dark to play. wrigley is an old field so maybe it still gets too dark

Exactly as they said, its because Wrigley is in a residential area. The residents complain about the lights, kinda sucks. Thank god for road games!, Being a cub fan, I wish they could play more at night. At least the day games come on the weekends when everyone can see them.

They have a deal with the city of Chicago to have limted amount of thier games to be played at night. And that includes weekends, where they can't play home night games on Friday & Saturdays, but they can on Sunday nights if they are scheduled to appear ESPN Sunday Night game of the week, but they can have them during the week, which would be Monday-Thursday nights. But since next weekend will be thier 20th anniversity of having night games including thier first scheuled, I see that they are trying to get the city of Chicago to let them play at night at Wrigley Field next weekend. And if you make a deal with somebody, you have to honor your part of the deal, otherwise there could be trouble.

Chicago Cubs wants to changes the policy that happened in 1989.

Most of peoples files complaint about noise when they play at night.

Chicago Cubs area has 2 thousands residents  live there around Chicago Cubs area.Between lights and noise at night.I have no idea about why they files complaint when they player mostly at night.

Residental Neighborhood They don't want to Play while People are Sleeping and the Fact that This week will be the 20th Anniversary of their Very first Night Game, since if this was before August 1988, I would also say No Lights at Ballpark, Now I don't have to say that.
