Why do the Ferrari's have white stripes down the nose?

For the most part the Ferrari cars in Formula 1 are plain red but they also have these big white stripes down the nose and sides they're not really a paint scheme at least I think they're not. They almost look like bar codes.

Marlboro owns most, if not all of the surface area of the car useable for advertising. They sell advertising spaces to other sponsors like Alice, Martini, Shell, AMD, Etihad etc.

It is called the "barcode". Formula 1 does no longer allow tobacco sponsorship. But Ferrari still receives money from Phillip Morris which is the parent company for Marlboro. The "barcode" is Marlboro is disguised signage.

It's similar to the marlboro brand logo, which they can't use in F1 anymore, so they use a similar design to the original marlboro brand.

Its the same on Ducatti bikes.

Bar codes or no bar codes, they still win Constructor titles, something that McLaren can't do since 3 yrs now despite having NO BAR CODES.

Maybe they paint Lewis partly white. Then it'd look like a bar code. (JOKE) haha

The stripes are there because Marlboro sponsor Ferrari and due to the tobacco advertising bans around most of the world they can't have the name on the cars or the drivers' and crew uniforms.

The team is Ferrari team is officially called Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, which means Philip Morris, the tobacco company who owns the Marlboro brand and is the biggest sponsor of the Ferrari team.  Tobacco adverts are banned in F1 so Marlboro substitutes their regular logos with the bar codes.  The ban was effective last year, but one could still see the regular Marlboro logo in China GP.
