  1. First of all, there are no more Mayans, so they don't think the world is going to end in 2012.  If you had done any research on this, even here in Answers where this question has been asked over and over, you would realize that when the Mayan calendar was made, it ended at the end of a 'cycle' that had to do with an ancient prophecy regarding the end of the this age.  The Mayans did not think the world would literally end, but that it would be a time of great changes and upheaval and that their way of life would no longer continue in the way it had been.  Do some research and find out your answers.  I'm sure there are others here with links.

  2. If you're worried about the world ending don't worry the world will end when God wants it to.

  3. The Mayans had an advanced astronomy-based calendar system that ends in 2012, hence they theorized that that must be when the world ends.

  4. The mayans never said that the world was going to end the mayan shaman said that it will be the end of the age as we know of it they never said the world was going to end. You are listening to some one who has mis interpreted their epic.

  5. look at this link hope it helps.

  6. Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everthing happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

  7. The Mayans never said that or wrote it. It is simply the last date recorded on an old Mayan calender referred to as the Dresden Codex. It is those who have seen in and researched the Mayan civilization who have come to that conclusion. Peace&Love be with you...~M~

  8. It's the end of the Mayan Calander. I personally don't believe the world will come to an end. There have been so many "end of the world" predictions and they all proved false. The days came and went and we're still here. I believe the calander was never continued BECAUSE the tribe is now extinct. How can the calander continue, if there is no one to work on it???

  9. It's not just the Mayan calendar, just about every sacred text predicts something about 2012. But I don't think it will be the end of the world. I believe it will be a shift in consciousness. The world as we know it will no longer exist.
