  1. People in the U.S. thought that way because they were (till now) trained to be superior in every aspect even to the phase where reality should be unfurled. It would be painful to say and admit losing a war especially over a third world country, I suppose.

  2. Because it was technically an armistice, and TECHNICALLY (on paper) we didn't lose (but we did).

If it is an armistice, then we (and everyone) considers that they won.  This is the psychology of a cease-fire or truce;  ditching and winning.  This became popular after the armistice in Korea (where it was a legitimate truce).

    It's all in the psychology.

    Hope this helped!

  3. Well they did win did they not -

They left the country with the realised they had no other option

  4. because most US students are ignorant.

the education system in the US is a complete failure and pushes kids along and out the door without ensuring that they have the proper education.

  5. they are ignorant. try telling them what happened. maybe even show a movie of the horrors when soldiers came back to the losing usa

  6. They have no understanding of Vietnam.  Most of their teachers weren't even born by the time it ended.  Not that it is really over for the vets....

  7. Some US students either haven't taken US History yet or have a teacher that didn't teach them the right thing. Some people still think Columbus discovered America and we never had an African American president before, when Warren Harding was $25% black.

  8. All the teachers at my school are pretty open-minded. It's like Woodstock here, and they say that Vietnam was pointless. I love it. No one won that war and we have to accept that.

    Make love, not war.

Or you're talking about students. Sorry. Well I'm a student, and I think that the war was stupid.

  9. you know I think its because we aren't actually taught that we didn't win  we just basically learn  why it started it was such a great Era in the United States We learn more about what was happening here at that time
