  1. because they know that people are on to them. Its a load of c**p! The world is just rearranging like always. They just want us to not have to rely on foreign oil.

  2. Yes, global warming is a "natural phenomenon" however, we must look at the evidence that paleoclimatologists have collected over the last 60 years.

Any increase in global temperature in 350 million years of documented climate history from ice cores, ocean cores and swamp cores shows a significant increase in either carbon dioxide or methane prior to that change in climate.

The carbon dioxide levels in our current atmosphere mostly from human causes, is much higher than is "normal" for the earth, and can have unknown consequences.

50 years of weather and temperature studies in Hawaii have concrete evidence of increases in global temperature.

The arctic ice sheets are melting at extreme rates, the greenland ice sheets and the glaciers in the mountains of tibet are receeding hundreds of feet each year, and are not being replaced by seasonal drops in temperature. Those glaciers provide fresh water for over 300 million people....without it, what do they do?

You can call the poles (north and south) the earths air conditioner. Without them, things don't cool down like ocean and surface temperature. As the ocean temps increase, they release more carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere.

Methane leaks off of landfills in ridiculous rates. That's why recycling and composting makes so much sense - the less we put into landfills, the less contribution to that toxic soup we have.

There is evidence that the north pole used to be tropical - like the Florida Everglades - a significant shift in climate made them like they are today.  Large releases of methane frozen on the bottom of the oceans was what contributed to that significant shift.  Oceanographers are documenting an alarming increase in methane release due to the warming of the oceans.

Yes volcanic activity contributes to climate change - but the relatively little volcanic activity we have today is miniscule in comparison - the largest contributor to greenhouse gasses is things like;  cutting down old growth forests (over 90% of them), landfill pollution, the millions of trucks which collect the trash, energy waste of homeowners and businesses, pollution from lawn mowers and weed wackers, the extraction and burning of coal for energy....the list goes on.

The results of these increases in greenhouse gases are as of yet unknown - but do we take a cross our fingers approach or a preventative approach?  I'd much rather do something to prevent the pollution of the earth than hope that we will leave something good for our grandchildren......the way things are going, I think we will leave them a brown earth with limited resources, not a green one.

It's like if you found you had cancer - would you cross your fingers and hope it went away - or would you do something to prevent and treat it..............

  3. Because being an Alarmist as opposed to a person relaying facts their goal is to reach the largest mass audience possible and therefore they dumb down their argument as much as possible.

    IMO of course!

  4. because its bogus, the earth goes thru cycles and has been for centuries.. it's bs

  5. Do you parents know you're not doing your homework?

Seriously  Bob, why don't you actually try posting a real question or at least an attempt to provide some glimmer of evidence that supports you're position on this issue?  Because the premise of your assertion here (as well as in your other daily repetitious posts) is completely false.  The quality of postings from the scientists that post here include: well reasoned logic, links to scientific research and peer reviewed journal articles, and they are definitely a lot less amateurish than your silly posts :-)

  6. Why can't the deniers learn to spell!

  7. Because their view of earth's history only goes back 100 years. They refuse to look at all the evidence that supports that the earth has a dynamic climate that is affected by earth's volcano's, occasional meteor strikes and most importantly refuse to acknowledge that the sun goes through cycles. And that those cycles do effect the earth's climate. They ignore the big picture and focus instead on one pixel. They ignore that the earth has gone through a multitude of hot and cold climate changes and that these were taking place long before mankind made his debut on earth.

They refuse to acknowledge that the strength of earth's magnetic field plays an important part on what is deflected back into space. That a weak magnetic field allows for the ozone to weaken allowing more ultra violet light to pass through.

Again, their view of the climate is only as big as a pixel. And from that they have determined that mankind is responsible for earth's imagined climate change.

  8. I would just as soon listen to the national and local weather stations. They are more informative and less repetitive.

  9. coming from you thats really ritch.

  10. why do ignorant people not look at any of the insurmountable evidence saying it is happening and say ITS A HOAX!   ?

  11. Big money in venture capital ask Mr Gore, not that he was in any risk of being unable to pay to heat/ cool his handful of very large mansions. In recent  years there was reports of him invited to invest in the ground floor of alternative energy start ups.

Maybe some of the venture capitalists will invest in Cellulosic ethanol plants to process switch grass or set up CTL plants to essentially do the same thing with the evil coal, that the US is fortunate to have a lot of.  This will lead to a greener environment and less dependence on foreign oil from dictators.
