What is wrong with the general anglers or people interested in this sport? Why do they lack so much in term of basic skills like tying knots, what bait the best, where is the best location etc.Why do they even try to get involved in this sport/hobby when they don't even know what they r doing? Its so sad when most of the people, young or old are asking c**p when you tried to help them n after wards they ask those c**p again n again.Don't they know that they need some education,by asking proper questions which are much useful for them to be a better angler to really enjoy what they kill.At least let the fish die for a decent purpose,in a much respectable way by being a proper angler. Those kids I can tolerate but some dudes r so f...... grown up so why bother to be interested/excited when u can't even tie your own tackles.Girls too r like so ???Its like we need to be equal but when It's fishing I'm a girl u know so I can't do anything by myself just can hold the rod,ya.Those male kids/young man will always be young boy cos they don't know how to do it them self, can't even bother to read/research n learn it.They just ask n ask but no improvements n they ask again n again like using another bait to fish for an answer. Those answer has to be suitable for their lazy a.s.s just shut the h.e.l.l up.Why ask?Come to my place n I give u an education,if u can't get your fish then just go back to your mama. Many questions with the same fundamentals r being ask repeatedly,it shows that advancement in their skills r so slow.To be an expert ,will take something like maybe 300 years then when u r an expert most of the species will be extinct. This is a torture to such a beautiful game. What should we do?Will u help by helping yourself n give them a decent answer with a deep explanation to its core.

  1. Wow,..hmmm well, I can agree on a few points there I guess. I have to give Laura props here though, I know that I am guilty of mashing all my points into one paragraph. I will try not to do that.

As for  asking the same questions over and over...hey, thats just the nature of Yahoo Answers I guess..people ask and expect answers to their questions..We don't have to answer them. I do because I love this sport and I want to share it with all who take the time to ask. I take people Steelhead fishing that have never fished for them before. Why? Again, because I love this sport and I want to shout it to the world..FISHING IS COOL!!!

Sure I do a little promotion of my website here but hey, I give good answers (the best that I can anyway) and I only mention my website if it pertains to the question.

If you get kids involved in fishing, they tend to stay off the streets and out of trouble as well.

Sorry if I went on a long-winded rant there.

    How was that Laura?  lol

  2. Becuase they just fly off the handle and ask a question before taking the time to read other questions and answers, or just becuase they are plain STUPID! Like I did answering this one.

  3. I will admit that it would be nice if people would learn to search for similar questions that have been asked, or use google or youtube to try to find the answer first, and then come here if they can't find it. But did you ever think that some of the people asking those questions might not yet know what is available to them as far as research? Some people are not as techno savy as others, they are not going to know what all is available until they spend more time on the computer and internet. The fact is, the whole point of Yahoo! Answers is to get answers to your questions. Those that want to learn something from those who have more experience in fishing come here, and I am glad that they do. No one just starts out in the sport knowing how to do everything, no matter how young or old they are. They have to learn by asking questions and doing research.

I love fishing and it makes me happy to see new people becoming interested in the sport. I have had SO many helpful experienced fisherman pass on their tips and tricks to me that have helped me tremendously and I am HAPPY to pass on that knowledge as well as the knowledge I've gained from just getting out on the water to those who want to learn. If I didn't want to help them, I wouldn't be in this section. Those that come here want to help those beginners, and if you don't like the beginners asking questions then you shouldn't be here.

What annoys me is when someone has a lot of good tips to offer gets on here but puts it in one large paragraph with hardly any punctuation or even spaces, numerous spelling errors, and horrible grammar to a point that the answer is almost completely illegible. Even someone with a high education has trouble reading their answers and yet they think they have a right to complain that the person asking the question has no education. Learn to write before giving a speech about education.

  4. you act like you were born with all the knowledge that you have. what are you doing on yahoo answers if you don't like to answer questions. i all ways understood this to be a sport about helping others. you know take a kid fishing. when i met my wife she had never fished before now she is an advid fisher. she learned by asking questions. i also have taught a few people older than my self to love the sport.  How else do you learn? if you don't like to answer questions get off yahoo answers you seem to be one of those rich people who think there s*** don't stink.

  5. I am a beginning angler. I have gone fishing several times on my own. I have taken the time to read several books for beginners. I do try to pay enough attention that even on trips when I catch nothing, I learn something about the water, my equipment, patience, etc. But I do think that fishing is one of those things that you can't really learn from a book. If you know how to fish, you can learn more from a book, but the basic way it works, the feel of it, is a thing that can't be written down.

My dad learned to fish from his dad, but he never taught me. I think that happened to a lot of us. We get all the way to being adults without someone having taught us to fish. I think many people are getting interested in fishing who don't know anyone who will take the time to teach them. Thus we come here to ask advice from those of you who have what we don't, experience. If you are frustrated by beginners making mistakes and asking redundant questions, you don't have to answer. I know that there are lots of forums just for more experienced anglers on the web.

  6. Other people may be asking c**p but take a look in the mirror. You're the one who is talking it.You're too lazy to type out "you" and instead type the letter u.Your grammar could certainly use some work also.I'm guessing you're around 14 years old.Stay in school.

  7. stop ranting! It's not going to change a thing. I'm very sorry, but just deal.

  8. I would like to talk about the new equipment whats been catching lately etc etc with other anglers on here but i like to help those starting out, often anglers for some reason cant seem to use their own initiative and find things them selves which irritates me but as for talking general fishing, i go into the local fly fishing shop for that.

  9. I know a lot about fishing and I am willing to learn more, that is why I think you see alot of the same questions

  10. think u might need a chill pill just got back from fishing Rio Grandee gorge look it up go to go ogle earth was nice trip seen the most beautiful new mexico native trout ever. wee where u fish at
