Why do the commentators on tennis always make excuses for Roger Federer when he loses a match?

Stating he was sick but do they say that about other players? No they say the other players sometimes fake sickness. Just be up front and say Federer lost and give the other player credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The commentators love talking about how great Federer is.  As soon as he steps on the court they spend a large amount of time discussing all the records he has set and will set.  As a result, when he loses, it makes them seem in the wrong.  That's why they try to find an excuse for his loss.  They try to rebuild their own credibility.

federer is a player who rarely loses n if he does there must be a cause for that so maybe thats the reason

Because he was so dominant (except on clay) up until this year, it seems totally out of character that he would lose as many times as he has recently.  Plus the commentators worship the ground he walks on, not without good reason I suppose, although I personally am not a fan of his.  They are willing to accept any excuse for him not dominating as he did before this year.

Maybe bcoz he's not used to losing...but he needs to lose sometimes in order for him to improve a little bit better

Go watch his other games...maybe last year or yr before and you would know why. Seems like you just started watching tennis. My friend Rafanfanda would be able to tell you the same...

i completely agree with you and tennis is the best.  i just wish players just admit that their opponent  outplayed them , period.  by the way, and it doesn't matter to me how one player always wins, but in every match, you do actually have to pull it off  so that is an actual win.  it is not one should win ,but rather did he actually win the match.

sweeti u know why?because he is No.1 and as others believe he is the best tennis player in tennis history so they say roger doesn't play well so he lost becuase they can't say the other palyer palys better than roger because roger is the best.and another thing  is that roger just 1time became sick durig this season & his problem wasn't injury like the others.he had monocleusis.

Because as per most people, Roger Federer cannot be beaten. If he is beaten, he must be sick, in a slump, etc. The other player can never outplay him. In short, only he can determine the outcome of a match.
