Question:

Why do the cowboys have Bobby Carpenter at MLB?

Things the guy does well, run side to side, and get into the backfield to make plays. Things he doesn't do well, take on guards and blocking fullbacks, which is pretty much what a 3/4 MLB has to do on 90% of the plays. Talk about a complete waste of talent. I hope he gets cut, so he can make a squad that can use him.

  1. Well, now that Kevin Burnett is out 3-4 weeks with a knee scope, they basically need Carpenter in the middle.

And to clarify, the Cowboys have been using him at both inside and outside linebacker in camp. He is doing well, but he still hasn't shown he was worth a first round pick.

Let's be honest; the Cowboys picked him because then-coach Bill Parcells coached Carpenter's father with the Giants. If not for this family connection, the Cowboys could have had current Chargers CB Antonio Cromartie!! Talk about a mistake...

    GO COWBOYS!!!

  2. Yeah, he's a valuable player, but he really doesn't fit into the Cowboys' scheme at all.  They should trade him exactly like the Jets did Jonathan Vilma.  Carpenter can contribute more to a 4-3 team, AND the draft pick or whatever the Cowboys get in exchange for him will be more valuable to the Cowboys than he is.
