Why do the democrats loathe the republicans and are less happy, more angry and more depressing?

Because the Dems. are on the wrong side of things...

They think government is the answer, and have ideologies that are impractical.

It manifests itself in being haters, angry, depressed, whiny/cranky.

I'm pretty sure there are enough less happy people in all forms of politics as well as angry and sometimes intelligent. My closest Republican friends are all happy most of the time and my closest Democrat friends are all happy too most of the time. I think this is because the World is a good place...

because we are educated, live below our means and support ourselves regardless of the current state of the economy.

The democrats have more to lose and probably their egos just got whooped when John McCain announced his V.P. was Sarah Palin, a woman, who is the Governor of Alaska.  At this time in the presidential race, they are all showing the aggression in a negative way, unfortunately.  They are angry at the fact that they have the first African American running for President who doesn't have a clue how to run a country, he is not patriotic, and he won against their woman, hillary.  So, naturally, they are angry, depressed, and you bet they loathe everyone who claims they are republicans right now!!!

They don't need to be that way, they can be just as diplomatic as the next republican in line...however, they choose to be angry, depressed and less dignified.  It's all in the choices we make...I don't see you making the choice to retaliate every chance you get, I think you are always diplomatic.  See my point?!

Republicans tend to be rich and dont worry themselves with the problems of others, which is their right. Im a Democrat and I believe in helping others, so sometimes you find yourself taking on the burdens of others, even when you dont want to, but because most Dems are full of compassion its impossible to ignore. If you notice, Dems take on the problems of the underrepresented, poor and weak. Republicans look out for themselves and others like them. They network so they can continue to be richer, stronger and more powerful. On a major political note however, Republicans tend to govern in a way that helps only a select few, not the whole of the United States and that's what I disagree with and get angry about. However, if you really pay attention, more republicans are going to jail for fraud and s*x scandals and money laundering. I believe in hard work and even as Dem I get upset that we are always bitching about things we never do anything about. I look forward to Obama becoming President. Maybe we can all feel more happy and less angry as our country begins a new era after the corruption of Bush.

So I've noticed.  People only get depressed or irate when they feel threatened and they know that their case doesn't hold any water.  Republicans have their share of members who behave this way, as well.  But, yeah, I'd say there's a pretty obvious imbalance there.
