  1. I assumed it was something to do with the chemicals in the pool but I don't know that for a fact.

  2. They are trying to loosen up their muscles after they hit the cold water with such force.  That's why you always see a hot tub in a diving venue as well.

  3. The water they shower in is warm and helps to keep their muscles warm and loose.  Some divers also think that if they go into the water while wet that they create a smaller splash.

  4. It's to wash off the pee that the other competitors leave in the Pool.

  5. why not ? chlor is in da water

  6. 1. to get the chemicals off

    2. to keep their muscles warm and avoid competition ending cramps

    3. to entertain us :-) the spectators just a little bit more

  7. They may just be after an extra couple of minutes on the tv!

Especially if they aren't going to go through to the next round.

  8. There is no rule that dictates that they have to shower. The pools have a lot of chemicals in them, chlorine etc. These are bad for the skin so they shower them off as soon as they get out of the pool.

Im sure swimmers do it too but with the diving we get to see it so we have something to do while the judges tally their scores.

  9. its because the water in the shower is warmer than the water in the pool. it help to keep the swimmers loose, to avoid cramping. that is what the commentators said while i was watching synchronized diving
