20years ????? can you remember Eithiopia, I t was the same then as it is now, No, I am not a callus person I will help anyone that will help themselfs, We have sent £ millions to this country in aid and they still come out with pictures of children starving, do you not think that they should start SNIPPING THE BLOODY MEN? They are quick enough to jump ontop but they do not seem to care about their children. As said I will help anyone, anytime, anyday that will help themselfs, BUT HOLD ON, enough is enough.

  1. I agree and put this question right up there with why aren't we curing any diseases with all the millions of dollars that have been donated to research? Where is the money going? Trying to keep people in third world countries from reproducing when millions are starving is all most impossible. Why do you think their HIV rates are so high?

  2. Why are you being so selfish. Warlords need money and also have feelings.

  3. i was young once - gave money for charity, worked for various good causes - and now have got old and sceptical after studying politics and history....

    i agree with you

  4. Right on to that....

  5. Why should we be rewarding bad governments? It is up to the governments of these countries involved to get their house in order, Why should charity prop up what is obviously a useless political body? Are Ethiopias leaders starving, drinking contaminated water, producing a child every year? Of course not, but they are happy to let their own people do so, and to happily sit back whilst charity does it's bit. Only when the rulers of a region are as poor as their citizens would I contemplate sending money to any country.

When a population has had enough of being badly governed, it needs to change things from within, chucking money at a problem solves nothing in the long term, as we have seen in this particular case.

  6. I agree, it's strange how these people make no connection between their state of poverty and the number of children they have. But without a decent education and available contraception, people everywhere have a natural tendency to breed like rabbits.
