Why do the hockey fields always appear wet even though its not raining?

  1. Hockey fields are artificially wet, usually with a giant sprinkler. This is done because it enables the ball to move along the field easier when it is hit by a hockey stick.


  2. It has something to do with the ball moving better on a wet field hockey field, so they wet it down.

    At least it wasn't an AT and T question.....
