  1. I don't think a majority of teens think that. At least, that's not what the figures I've seen suggest. Only a minority do either regularly. But of those who do, well, all I can say is that I found smoking dope fun (in moderation) and I also found drinking fun, until the next day, ouch . . . not sure why they would be any different. They're both pleasurable drugs.

However, looking back, my nerdy friends were always more fun and having more fun than my party friends. Partying and drugging get boring after a while. Nerds are always finding fun interesting things to do.

  2. Peer pressure and the fact that communities do not have activities or places for them to go. I think city government seriously neglects their youth, and that's why they pay the price with teenage crime, drinking....

  3. They like the feeling they get after they use it.

  4. They worship the media ,so you figure it out!

  5. You answered your own question.

    Because its fun.

  6. Cause thier friends do it and they want to 'expieriment'.

Also , It seems to be a trend lately.

Ever since the whole stupid 'emo' and 'scene' trends came along it became more popular. Although it existed before the trends came out , It's still more popular because of those trends now.

or to get back at parents.

  7. Boredom, the fact that in many places there isn't much alternative or widely accessible facilities to amuse them.

Society has a lot to answer for with its glorification of alcohol and drugs as "living life to the full" while their peers and even in many cases, their parents, also engage in similar activity but having a "do as I say, not as I do" policy.

  8. going out with a group of friends talking and having a few beers or sumthing, movies etc

  9. bcoz there spoilt little s***s with no disipline. they need a good slap to bring them bak to reality

  10. Because the forbidden tastes so sweet. I think a lot of over-doing it could be reduced by legalizing marijuania (which is less harmful than nicotine), and lowering the drinking age to 16.

  11. if only more would smoke dope instead of drinking. alcohol poisoning is a horror. i saw a girl at school get taken away in an ambulance one day because she had passed out and turned blue.

there are lots of things that can be fun, but parents are too busy with their lives to take their kids anywhere. i read books as a kid, smoked a little pot in high school, wrote some awesome papers and essays and stories and poems. meh. i just dont want my son to drink or do chemicals. but hes 2 so i don't have to worry about that for awhile.

  12. majority huh....well then...now that i am no longer a "teen" but a legal adult i can look back on questions like this and laugh, know why, because its all bull ****, the only reason you know about it is becuase the media focuses on it..why..because bad news=a good day in the news room, now the REAL MAJORITY of teens have fun going to the mall, hanging at the arcade, watching movies, or eating/playing vidio games

  13. I think smoking dope ON OCCASION is fun

and I hate drinking because it is much worse for you and makes you feel like ****

Don't target us just because we're teenagers, you were once too

  14. idk but a bigger majority dont think its fun gosh

  15. 1 word.

    -boredom-

  16. I am in a state of constant boredom. However, I do not think it is "fun" to smoke dope or drink to exhaustion.

I've never been drunk and I've never smoked anything besides cigarettes, which I didn't until after I turned 18.

I actually avoid people that do.

I think it's ignorant to party all the time at a young age.

I mean, I moved out of my parents house but I haven't started throwing wild parties and having a bunch of partners.

I hate how the immature teens give all teens a bad name. Sure, I went through a phase when I did go to parties, but the minute it started messing with my grades, I stopped.

There are way more important things in life than partying.

  17. Generally bc they have nothing better to do. Dont have the money to do something else. Have over protective parents that drive them to acting out or just bc they like to drink. Everythings more fun when your drunk

  18. Sorry, maybe in your world the "majority" of teens think this is fun, but in reality the "majority" of teens do not do either or think it is fun. MOST think it pretty stupid.

  19. Teenagers dont think its that fun to always smoke and drink it just comes down to how bored they are. You can tell the best of teens by those who have more fun like the cinema eachothers houses or clubs. The ones drinking ALL the time seem to be the chavs thinking its cool.

  20. peer pressure from other kids

  21. They're in the stage where they want to experiment...Hopefully it's just a phase and they will grow out of it...Sometimes they want to feel "cool" and welcome by their peers. They like showing off...Also it can be that they feel shy around people like at parties and such, so they drink or smoke weed so they can be more "outgoing" and "fun"...

I was like that when I was 14-16. I did it because I have social anxiety, and I feel really nervous and shy around people. I did it so I could calm down and let loose a little. And also, I wanted attention from my peers, but it actually drew attention in a negative way. It was really a dumb thing to do though. My views on teenagers drinking and doing drugs have changed MAJORLY since then though, and I do not agree with it at all.

  22. Because we can only be what we are perceived to be. We were given the name of the generation of druggies and therefore we now have become the generation of druggies.
