  1. mainly because women are the primary caregivers for the children so it would be a burden for them if they HAD to go to the mosque and it was a sin on them if they did not.  But, in such a case, according to the laws of the Shari`ah, women are duly compensated for their absence from mosques because of the nobler task they are engaged in at home. Also, women sometimes are not praying due to their menstrual cycles.  Lastly, women can go to the mosque at anytime, not just fridays and nothing prevents them from doing so.  The Prophet saws  also clearly forbade men from banning women from mosques. He saws said, "Don’t stop the maid servants of Allah (that is, women) from coming to mosques of Allah" (Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Ahmad, Malik, and others)

  2. Friday prayers are not obligatory for women. Disregarding the traditions of the Prophet and the practice of Muslims, it is not appropriate to say that it is obligatory for women by recoursing to the statement “O, you who believers” in the verse that makes it obligatory. Otherwise, every body, including the slaves, sick etc., should be responsible with it. In fact, the Prophet has specified the meaning of the verse by indicating that women, sick, passengers, and slaves are not responsible to perform it. (Abu Dawud, Salat, 215; Bayhaqi, Sunan, III/183-184, no. 5422, 5425, 5426; Daraqutni, Sunan, II/2, no. 2; Ibn Abi Shayba, Musannaf, I/446, no. 5148; Abu Muhammad al-Baghawi, Masabih al-Sunna, I/470).

Furthermore, in the sources of hadith and biographies (of Muhammad), in the time of the Prophet, some women performed the Friday prayers, but they did not join the prayers extensively, as the men did. The jurists of Islam, from the very beginning, agreed upon the fact that Friday prayers are not compulsory for women. (See. Ibn Rushd, Bidayat al-Mujtahid, I/157; Ibn Qudama, Mughni, II/193; Ibn Hazm, Muhalla, III/259; Ibn Humam, Fath al-Qadir, II/62; al-Shirbini, Mughni’l-Muhtaj, I/276; Yusuf al-Huli, Nihayat al-Ihkam, II/42; Sa’di Abu Jayb, Mawsu’at al-Ijma, II/633).

However, this is not a destitution but an exemption for women. If they wish to perform it they are free to do so in a mosque, and there is no obstacle for this in the religion of Islam.

  3. First of all, it should be clear that Jumu`ah prayer is not obligatory for Muslim women, but if they do perform them, then they don't have to perform Zuhr prayer.

In his well-known book, Fiqh As-Sunnah, the late Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq states:

“Jumu`ah prayer is not obligatory upon women… There is no difference among Muslim scholars in this regard.

Tariq ibn Shihab reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jumu`ah prayer is a duty upon every Muslim in congregation, save four: a slave, a woman, a child, or a person who is ill."

Should a woman pray Jumu`ah, it will be valid and she will no longer be obliged to pray the Zuhr. Women during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings b upon him) attended the mosque and used to pray Jumu`ah with him.”

Responding to your question, Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi, former President of the Islamic Society of North America, states:

“It is correct that Jumu`ah prayer is not obligatory upon women, but women are allowed to pray Jumu`ah prayers in the mosque along with men. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah to come to the mosques of Allah." (Reported by Al-Bukhari)

Women used to attend the Jumu`ah and other prayers in the Mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during his lifetime. They were never told to pray Zuhr also. Thus, it is clear that if a woman prays Jumu`ah prayer in the mosque with the congregation, then this is sufficient for her. She does not have to pray Zuhr after that.”

Thus, though women are exempted from performing Jumu`ah prayer, they are allowed to perform it, and, in such a case, they need not pray Zuhr.

  4. because Allah said so!

  5. oh holy moses, dont forget that you are a d**n woman ok

  6. In all societies men are out side and women more in homes. they have more commitment in the houses. home making and caring children give women a heavy job. so it allowed women a discount.

if they have time they also go to masjid.

Allah do not burden you more than what you can.

  7. Many reasons.

Women were given a lighter burden of obligations for salaat because of their responsibilities to their family (childcare) and also for their physical difference (monthly cycle).

She also doesn't have to make up any prayers she missed during her cycle. A man has to make up any missed prayers.

Out of modesty, a woman has the option of praying at home or going to the masjid if she wishes. For the man, the community prayer at the masjid is compulsory.

This is for all prayers, not just jumah on friday.

  8. Sorry But I don't Care!!! xox

  9. Hi,

I used to ask this question too.. but

Some mosques have a womens side..

and also it is harder for men because it is not just the Friday noon prayer they have to go to the mosque, its also every other prayer

Now if you were a boy you know sometimes you wouldnt be bothered to go all the way  to the mosque.. or you may be tired..

It is much harder for men and easier for women as we can pray at home...

i think we shouldnt compain because men do not complain that they want to pray at home..

I think we should all be greatful !

I am not tryin to sound harsh , i just want people to understand!

  10. Its okay you can go, there is a place for women  in the mosque!

  11. cause we usually have kids with us and they require a LOT of work in getting ready to go out and keeping under control once we do get outside. i thank god that i get the mercy to pray in my home.

  12. it's allowed for woman to go 2 the mosque , but not mandatory bcoz of many reasons like children responsibility

  13. Women are not always allowed to leave their homes unescorted by men in Muslim countries. Also, the Mosque has to provide a separate area for women to pray so that the men don't  watch them bending over with their rear end up in the air.

When I was in a small village in Turkey, women were not allowed into the Mosque at all. In other parts of Turkey, women could enter mosques, especially the larger cities. In Egypt, I went to a mosque with a separate area for women. The women's section was small, and partitioned off so we couldn't see the rest of the mosque, nor could the men see us.

Eastern orthodox churches and some Jewish synagogues also have separate areas for women.

  14. When you have kids running around, trying to do your own prayers while keeping up with them, and they start screaming and crying, disturbing other people who give you dirty looks, it will make sense.

  15. the Prophet  said: “Do not prevent the female slaves of Allaah (i.e. women) from the mosques of Allaah. They should go without wearing perfume. If one wears perfume, it is not lawful for her to attend the prayer in congregation in the mosque.” [Ahmad and Abu Daawood]

There is evidence from the Sunnah that the prayer of a woman in her house is better in reward than her praying in the mosque, and the general evidence include the Haraam mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's mosque in Madeenah. Um Humayd As-Saa'iddiyyah  came to the Prophet  and said: ''O, Prophet of Allaah, I love praying behind you." Thereupon, the Prophet  told her: ''I know that, but your prayer in your home is better for you (more rewarding).'' [Ahmad]. This is evidence that a woman praying in her own home is better for her than praying behind the Prophet  in his mosque in Madeenah. This is evidence that the multiplication of the reward in the Prophet's mosque is peculiar to men and not women, as pointed by some scholars .

To conclude, it is more rewarding for a woman to pray in her own residence in the hotel. This becomes more confirmed due to what women do nowadays by applying perfume and not wearing the proper Hijaab and due to the crowdedness in the two Sacred Mosques, and this causes men to be tempted by them and them being tempted by men.
